Southern California Edison Contract Administration Specialist in Pomona, California

In this job, you will handle Distribution Construction Contract Management (DCCM) helpdesk inquiries, perform contract validations, research customer payments, request customer refunds, analyze deficiency bills, process customer invoicing, reconcile general ledger accounts, support various financial reports, validate collection activities, and park write-off requests.

Responsibilities

  • Advises relevant stakeholders regarding contractual rights and tariff obligations, providing interpretation of contract terms and conditions and applicable regulations to relevant stakeholders

  • Support negotiations of contract terms and conditions with customers and stakeholders to ensure compliance with relevant tariffs. This includes grasping the objectives of the change, identifying areas for compromise, and achieving mutually beneficial agreements. Interprets, analyzes, communicates and resolve issues that arise during application intake. Creates, supports negotiation and incorporates change orders and amendments into key on-going contracts

  • Develops and/or follows processes to ensure that contracts are managed efficiently, consistently, and in compliance with the organization's commitments under the contracts and its regulatory obligations.

  • Completes data entries in the contract management database and electronic storage system accurately and timely

  • Monitors compliance with tariff contract requirements, and reporting on contract information, development status, and performance to internal parties and regulatory agencies

  • Performs research on legal issues impacting the organization, identifying applicable statutes, regulations, and prime contract requirements and analyzing their application and effect on the organization business operations

  • Manages shared program mailboxes, including promptly responding to questions/inquiries from internal and external customers on contract performance, compliance, and other contractual matters. Coordinates meetings, develops agendas, summarizes, and documents decisions and action items, and disseminates meeting minutes

  • Review low-complexity contracts to identify potential risks, liabilities, and ambiguities, which includes analyzing legal language , financial implications, performance metrics and compliance requirements to ensure contracts align with organizational objectives and contractual obligations are met

  • Performs various financial and journal entries to aid in the reconciliation of projects including Non-PO's, refunds and invoices. Assists with FERC Formula reporting, budget/forecasting, variance explanations, data requests, and monthly, quarterly and year-end accruals

  • Identifies and escalates issues to management for immediate resolution, may include billing, operational, and contractual issues. Drives continuous improvement, including assisting with identifying and implementing processes, policies, and procedures

  • A material job duty of all positions within the Company is ensuring the protection of all its physical, financial and cybersecurity assets, and properly accessing and managing private customer data, proprietary information, confidential medical records, and other types of highly sensitive information and data with the highest standards of conduct and integrity.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Three or more years of experience of contract management or compliance of contracts in accordance with regulatory rules and standards.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher business, finance, accounting or related field.

  • Three or more years of experience in regulatory compliance, policies, and procedures.

  • Experience with SAP or similar enterprise-wide system.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft applications, including excel, word and PowerPoint.

  • Ability to work with all levels of internal and external customers.

Additional Information

  • This position’s work mode is hybrid. The employee will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days. Unless otherwise noted, employees are required to work and reside in the state of California. Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage. The work mode can be changed based on business needs.
