Robert Half Entry Level Accountant in Port Huron, Michigan
Description We are looking for an Entry Level Accountant to join our team located in PORT HURON, Michigan. This role will involve undertaking key accounting duties within a mid-size manufacturing company, including ledger maintenance, financial transactions, and data analysis.
Responsibilities:
• Handle daily financial transactions such as verifying, classifying, and recording accounts payable/receivable data.
• Track expenditures, process payments, and monitor payroll, purchase orders, invoices, and statements.
• Assist with the responsibilities of the accounting department, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and month/year-end closing processes.
• Prepare financial reports by collecting, summarizing, analyzing, and interpreting accounting information for presentation to management.
• Maintain financial security by following internal controls and protect the organization’s value by keeping information confidential.
• Ensure company's compliance by utilizing knowledge of applicable laws and regulations.
• Provide administrative support to management when necessary.
• Execute Accounting Functions, Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), and Ad Hoc Reporting. Requirements • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field is required
• Familiarity with Accounting Functions is essential
• Experience in handling Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) is preferred
• Proficiency in Ad Hoc Reporting is necessary
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are required
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team is necessary
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail are required
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel is essential
• Experience with accounting software is preferred
• Ability to meet deadlines and handle multiple tasks simultaneously is necessary
• Familiarity with financial regulations and legislation is an added advantage.
