Emergency Medical Technician Requirements and Education:

Education: High School Diploma or GED

  • Must meet and maintain applicable state, county, and municipal certification requirements for EMT - Basic (EMT-1) level

  • Must meet and maintain applicable state, county, and municipal licensing requirements for Security Officers

  • Knowledge of or ability to learn security operations and procedures

  • Ability to follow written, oral, or diagrammatic instructions

  • Effective team player

  • Maintains composure in unusual circumstances

  • Courteous telephone manner

  • Adapts to changes in environment and organization

  • Writes routine correspondence, logs, and reports

  • Strong organizational skills

  • Provides high-quality customer service

  • Good interpersonal skills across diverse cultures

Essential Functions:

  1. Assess and resolve problems at client facilities.

  2. Administer emergency care to injured or ill individuals at client facilities.

  3. Coordinate with medical professionals at treatment facilities during emergencies.

  4. Operate necessary equipment and vehicles for job tasks.

  5. Lead and train staff.

  6. Control site access, screen visitors efficiently, and ensure facility security.

  7. Provide excellent client interaction and maintain a positive client image.

  8. Communicate openly, honestly, and responsively in all situations.

  9. Monitor entrances, exits, and movement within the facility using CCTV and remote access devices.

  10. Patrol assigned areas to identify hazards, security breaches, and safety issues.

  11. Preserve evidence and manage incident scenes during emergencies or security investigations.

  12. Prepare accurate logs and reports using standard grammar and computer systems.

  13. Report incidents or suspicious activities promptly to appropriate authorities.

  14. Respond to emergencies such as fire, medical incidents, bomb threats, hazardous materials incidents, and severe weather conditions.

  15. Enforce property removal policies in compliance with client standards.

  16. Perform specific duties as required by client/company policies.

  17. Fulfill any additional duties specified by the client or company.
