Liberty Latin America Treasury Cash Analyst in Puerto Rico

What´s the role?

In this role you will take care of the treasury, cash management and cash reconciliations for fixed and mobile business. This role operates on the operational side of accounting and collaborates with receivables, cash management, billing claims, analytical cash flows and cash flow modeling, both short and long term. The position is responsible for timely application of cash receipts and timely reconciliation for bank debits. You will be analyzing payments disputes and investigating any variances to the billing system as well as other primary accounting duties. Responsible for the daily recording, matching and clearing of the bank transactions and monthly bank reconciliations related to payment channels.

How can you add value?

  • Review complex systems reports and apply appropriate accounting treatment.

  • Ensure accuracy and completeness over payments posting in the billing system.

  • Implement processes to handle and recognize payment differences between bank deposits, merchant reports, and billing reports.

  • Identify, design and propose ways to make the payment channels reconciliation process more efficient.

  • Build and maintain internal controls over cash collections operations.

  • Serve as a key technical resource/specialist over payment channels tendencies.

  • Maintain appropriate documentation for all reconciliations and standard operating procedures.

  • Facilitate reconciliations discussions with external auditors and ensure proper sign-off of US GAAP application.

  • Performs accounting posting for deposits from payment channels.

  • Develop and execute analytical procedures to understand and explain variances from expectations on account balances and transactional activity.

  • Monitor and handle the bank relationships, on-line banking and bank mandates.

  • Handle and prepare receivables forecast.

  • Monitor the service level of the cash management & lock box providers and address any issues.

  • Demonstrate and ensure compliance with the Customer First Philosophy, all LLA's policies and procedures including the Code of Conduct and Liberty safety standards and procedures.

  • Other functions may be assigned.

What do you need?

Education and/or Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance. MBA preferred.

1-3 years of combined work experience in accounting and or cash reconciliations.

Treasury working knowledge including cash management, oversight, controls, and local/international treasury policies.

US GAAP Experience

Specialist/Advanced Excel Skills preferred.

Other Qualifications:

  • Strong accounting background including experience performing journal and general ledger entries, reconciliations, etc.

  • Experience working with Financial ERP systems (i.e. SAP)

  • Working knowledge and experience with SOX controls, testing and requirements

  • A deep understanding of revenue accounting in a software-based company preferable

  • Ability to meet tight deadlines, prioritize workload and achieve effective results in a fast-paced, dynamic, ever-growing and often ambiguous environment; effective multi-tasking skills are vital

  • Proven experience working within a multinational environment, with preference on experience within a US GAAP environment.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Spanish. Ability to research complex topics, make improvements and provide well substantiated recommendations to management, including ability to summarize information clearly and effectively in presentations and paper.

  • Ability to work, develop, build and improve detailed financial models. Strong Excel skills, financial consolidation tools and PowerPoint presentations.

  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to focus on the detail while keeping the broader context in perspective.

  • Strive to deliver results quickly, balancing structured and tight deadlines with ad hoc project work.

  • Proven ability to seek our operational improvement efforts within the Finance organization to raise productivity, timeliness and completeness.
