The team you will be a part of

The Software Engineering team designs, develops or coordinates development/troubleshooting or debugging of moderately complex software programs for enhancements and new products. Performs high-level design/modeling to convert stakeholder needs into software solutions. Develops software and tools in support of design, infrastructure and technology platforms. Determines hardware compatibility and/or influences hardware design. Develops the architectural guidelines, specifications, and technical standards and communicates to stakeholders.

This role in summary

The Lead Software Developer will be instrumental in designing and developing connectivity software components and integrating them into the broader appliance software. They will spearhead the integration of SDKs and consumer UX/UI requirements to provide a premium user experience for high-end appliances and segments. Additionally, the role involves creating a platform to enable machine learning and deliver value-added services through Whirlpool's IoT platform.

Your responsibilities will include

Educational Qualifications- B.Tech-MTech/ Master Degree on Electrical / Electronic Engineering/ Computer Engineering etc.

Experience Required- 9 to15 years

Job Details-

  • Develop cutting-edge solutions for diagnosing product failures, ensuring seamless integration from detection to resolution.

  • Implement comprehensive diagnostic systems that improve the ability to detect and address issues in Whirlpool products.

  • Design and architect IoT applications that enable advanced connectivity and functionality in products.

  • Create and implement connectivity solutions that enhance the user experience, making appliances more interactive and user-friendly.

  • Provide solutions for integrating mobile applications with appliances using various connectivity technologies to enable remote control and monitoring.

  • Ensure all software development adheres to established coding standards and best practices.

  • Offer creative solutions to complex technical challenges and mentor team members in effective problem-solving techniques.

Minimum requirements

  • Experienced in Networking and Communication Protocols, IoT protocols (MQTT, CoAP), and Wireless Communication Standards (BLE, Zigbee, Wi-Fi), including TCP/IP Stack and related protocols.

  • Understanding of network topologies and design principles for IoT networks.

  • Expertise in Communication Interfaces such as UART, SPI, I2C, CAN.

  • Proficient in programming across multiple languages and paradigms, including C/C++, JavaScript, Java, Python, and Shell Script.

  • Familiarity with microcontroller architectures like ARM Cortex, Multi-core Micro Controllers

  • Knowledgeable in object-oriented programming principles.

  • Over 5 years of experience with multi-process, multi-tasking, or multi-threaded Operating Systems (RTOS, Linux, Android).

  • Understanding or exposure to BLE (Bluetooth Low Energy) and Wi-Fi-based IoT Application development.

  • Exposure to recent trends in Machine Learning and Deep Learning.

  • Comfortable with both Agile and Waterfall SDLC methodologies.

Preferred skills and experiences

  1. Over 5 years of experience in developing applications within the connectivity/IoT domain.

  2. Proficient in working with wireless communication protocols.

  3. More than 8 years of experience in embedded system development.

  4. Skilled in working with BLE/WiFi stacks.

  5. Experienced in optimizing performance and memory usage for embedded systems.

  6. Knowledgeable in network protocols and formats, including HTTPS, MQTT, JSON, and XML.

  7. Expertise in implementing software components that connect end devices to IoT platforms.

  8. Strong understanding of code versioning tools, such as Git, and experience with Jenkins CI/CD DevOps.

  9. Familiar with continuous integration and testing practices.

  10. Knowledgeable in UML for software design.

  11. Experience with UI test and integration test automation.
