What’s the role?

Reporting to the Commercial Director and NSW Managing Director, this role is responsible for the commercial performance of brands and products within our State and Community titles, acting as ambassador and product champion within local markets, building deep relationships that drive advocacy and commercial outcomes.

Managing the dichotomy between product-centricity to build our consumer subscription business and customer-centricity to fund it. Using Enterprise leadership to encourage collaboration to drive a competitive advantage, you will ensure the publishing businesses operate as a network, delivering scale and simplicity. The conduit between all business units within Queensland, driving collaboration and Leadership at a local level.

Role Responsibilities

  • Take advantage of deep commercial relationships to uncover client problems that NCA can solve by delivering brand agnostic audiences & locally generated revenue.

  • Partner with the Client Product team on scalable product innovations that deliver advertising revenue growth, particularly in the digital category, and review the ongoing product catalogue.

  • Partner with State and Community teams on product innovation to drive consumer revenue and audience growth and be accountable for the local execution of national consumer strategies.

  • Work with the GMs to leverage your deep understanding of News Corp’s value proposition and suite of offerings, competitor activity, marketplace and category trends, capitalise on the client relationships you have in market, take full accountability to deliver and lead with composure to ensure News Corp’s values and perception in market is best in class.

  • Part of the Executive Client Sponsorship Program - developing deep relationships with nominated clients, hosting boardroom lunches, regular check-ins and forums with editors, sharing feedback and insight with the Client team.

  • Advocacy, ensuring we inform and inspire at a local level and using masthead brand equity to lead commercial advocacy campaigns.

  • Responsible for emergency management in your state, chairing the emergency planning committee in respect to workplace health and safety obligations

  • Delivering client revenue and consumer subscriptions targets across State and Community mastheads
