This role in summary

The Production Tech (Pro Tech) Program Leader will develop, lead, and continuously improve a program to train and support Pro Tech activity across all shifts. This position must become capable of conducting all Pro Tech job assignments and facilitating or coordinating training about those requirements. Training requirements to include safety, technical, 5S, autonomous maintenance, and World Class Manufacturing (WCM) methodologies.

This position will also function as Insinkerator’s WCM Autonomous Maintenance (AM) Specialist and with support from manufacturing engineers and subject matter experts, this role will help define AM responsibilities.

The Pro Tech Program Leader will have dotted-line responsibility for Pro Techs while the Production Supervisors maintain direct oversight.

Although this is primarily a 1st shift position, this person will be required to work split shifts to support off shifts. (i.e. 5 am - 1 pm twice a week, 9 am - 5 pm twice a week, one day 7 am-3 pm)

As a part of the Continuous Improvement (C.I.) department, this role will support various C.I. initiatives as secondary responsibilities.

Your responsibilities will include

  • Partner with operations leadership to develop and continuously improve the Pro Tech training and support program

  • Learns all HMI and machine fault clearance actions within approved scope

  • Trains Pro Techs into complete job effectiveness

  • Validates training effectiveness and tracks training progress

  • Maintains and processes training records in ETQ

  • Conducts group and one on one training

  • Interfaces with supervisors, manufacturing engineers, technical support groups and the WCM team to foster alignment and the standardization of Pro Tech responsibilities

  • Continuous learning to improve the groups efficiency and potential for increased scope

  • Collaborates with supervisors on personnel performance opportunities

  • Establish documentation such as, training material and work instructions

  • Understand WCM AM responsibilities and train others in AM pillar methodology

  • Support AM pillar progress and present during WCM audits as requested

  • Support improvement projects as assigned

Education/Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Minimum 4 years of experience in a manufacturing environment

  • Experience training

  • Must pass the Production Tech interview test

  • Must acquire and maintain LOTO authorization after hire

  • Must acquire and maintain Training Within Industry (TWI) certification after hire

Preferred skills and experiences

  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Must have a average computer competency, Google Workspace preferred

  • Strong leadership ability, with the ability to influence others

  • Understanding of Leader Standard Work a plus

  • Post high school technical training in the following areas is a plus: electrical, electronics, hydraulics, pneumatics, and mechanics

  • Organized and detail-oriented

  • Ability to build effective working relationships throughout the organization
