The Impact You’ll Make in this Role

As a Safety Instructor you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:

• Deliver, to the highest possible standard, 3M Safety Training developed safety training programs to various adult student groups in both classroom and hands-on practical training environments at 3M Safety Training locations and client sites.

• Responsible for the safety of the students at all times.

• Follow all safety protocols, 3M procedures, OH&S regulations, and client specific safety rules at all times.

• Complete all required documentation for all safety and training requirements.

• Self-manage work time to meet the demands of your training schedule, travel parameters and other tasks as assigned from time to time.

• Confident in teaching to a diverse audience including where individuals may have limited previous knowledge of the material and / or language or other difficulties learning.

• Audit Certified Instructors against the pre-determined curriculum documents for prescribed courses as required.

• Passionate, engaging and entertaining educator.

• Bring other skills and talents to continually improve the material, content, delivery, appearance, look and presentation of 3M Safety Training.

Your Skills and Expertise

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

• High school diploma or higher (completed and verified prior to start) and six (6) years of safety and/or instructing experience in a private, public, government or military environment

-OR-

• Bachelor’s Degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) and two (2) years of safety and/or instructing experience in a private, public, government or military environment

• Current, valid Driver’s License.

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

• Master's degree in environmental, Health and Safety) from an accredited institution

• Certified Safety Professional (CSP)

• Five (5) years of instructing industrial safety topics in a private, public, government or military environment

• Skills include:

• Impactful preparation and presentations, negotiation skills, cross-functional collaboration and communication, project management, body shop financials, ability to influence internal and external decision makers

• Advanced Microsoft Suite skills.

• Excellent written & oral communication skills, presentation skills, and interpersonal skills including the ability to influence others and work effectively in a team environment.

Work location:

• 3M Safety Training Center in Red Wing MN and/or travelling to customer locations.

Travel: May include up to 70% domestic

Relocation Assistance: Is not authorized

Must be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status).

Applicable to US Applicants Only:The expected compensation range for this position is $94,018 - $114,911, which includes base pay plus variable incentive pay, if eligible. This range represents a good faith estimate for this position. The specific compensation offered to a candidate may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s relevant knowledge, training, skills, work location, and/or experience.
