​​Within Azure Data, the business intelligence team builds and maintains Power BI which is the undisputed leader in BI tool in the industry today and serves as the bridge between data professionals & Office users. Power BI’s core value proposition is to enable end users to get answers & insights from their data through data visualization.​

As a Senior Software Engineer - Front End on our team you will be part of building the critical infrastructure and tooling that powers the Power BI front-end applications.

Responsibilities

As a Senior Software Engineer - Front End on our team you will:

  • ​​Passionately Work on Developer Experiences: We believe that amazing products start with a sharp developer experiences. If you’re enthusiastic about technology and creating tools and frameworks that empower developers, you’ll fit right in.

  • Experience working with client-side engineering tooling (ie. Webpack, Rollup, Typescript compiler, Parcel)

  • Work on client developer experience features

  • Practice an Attention to Detail: Our tooling is the backbone of our success. We need someone who dives deep into the details, identifies pain points, and transforms them into elegant solutions.

  • Participate in Product Impact: Power BI is used by millions of people daily. Your work will directly impact their experiences, making your contributions meaningful and rewarding.

Qualifications

Required /Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, or related technical discipline AND 4+ years front-end development experience

  • OR equivalent experience.​

  • 4+ years of experience coding in HTML, CSS, Typescript, and JavaScript.

  • 2+ years of experience mentoring and coaching engineers.

  • 1+ years of experience owning deliverables of projects.

Other Requirements:

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check:

  • This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred/Additional Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience with client-side engineering tooling (ie. Webpack, Rollup, Parcel).

  • 5+ years of experience with Web Platforms technologies such as Angular and React.

  • 1+ years experience in designing and implementing automated tests, including unit tests and integration tests.

Software Engineering IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $117,200 - $229,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $153,600 - $250,200 per year.
