Purpose of Role

An exciting opportunity has been made available for proven Strategic Account Manager to join our growing Under Armour commercial sales team. This role is to work with our Global Strategic Account, The JD Group, specifically managing the EMEA JD Sports business and will be based in the UK.

We are looking for a person with a proven track record in Strategic Account Management and strong sales experience, ideally within the Sports Industry. You will have a lead role in working cross functionally with UA product, merchandising, marketing, operations, and planning teams, as well as managing multiple account buyers and merchandisers. Your responsibility will be to strategically manage and drive sustainable, yet ambitious, revenue growth against defined targets in the JD Sports business. You will have experience across Apparel, Footwear and Accessories ideally in mens, women’s and youth. You will be open minded, self-motivated and a team player with excellent communication skills and strong stakeholder management.

Your Impact

  • Build and manage strong relationships with JD Sports retail wholesale partner to strengthen existing partnership and deliver a first class service level

  • Deliver the agreed metrics, including annual sales and profit for Under Armour, in line with the regional and global strategy.

  • Ability to think strategically - proactively lead a joint company-strategic account planning process that develops mutual performance objectives, financial targets, segmentation and differentiation for one and five years in line with UA global strategy

  • Oversee end-to-end sales process (e.g., sell-in, sell-out, assortment selection, order entry/reconciliation, excellent in-season orderbook management and identify additional stock opportunities / replenishment)

  • Demonstrates an excellent understanding of the intersection between Under Armour and JD Sports target consumer to optimize brand positioning in the market on an ongoing basis

  • Lead process evaluation whilst supporting internal product teams to help inform and drive strategy to unlock future opportunities

  • Pro-actively communicate business results and overcome barriers to achieve objectives.

  • Ensure excellent physical space management and implementation of directed assortments.

  • Establish and maintain a strong internal communication and relationships with cross-functional teams, including senior management, to help inform and drive strategy and future opportunities.

  • Strong knowledge and passion of the Sport and the Sports Industry (customer profiles, competitors, and market trends) - frequent retail market walks

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree with a minimum 5 years’ of experience working as a Strategic Account Manager or comparable role in a forward order wholesale business, with a proven track record of high achievements

  • Experience of working in a B2B environment, managing quarterly go to market business processes with internal and external teams

  • Experience of working with product and design teams to drive account relevant assortment (SMU input)

  • Demonstrated successful track record and progression in a commercial or business environment.

  • Working within strict deadlines and able to be adaptive to changes.

  • Excellent planning and organization skills.

  • Computer literacy (Mircosoft suite) including excellent Excel spreadsheet skills.

  • Flexible approach and willingness to further learn & adapt in a fast pace growing business.

  • PowerPoint presentation skills and the ability to deliver strong presentations (1:1 and groups)

  • Strategic, understands retail math, analytical and financially astute.

  • Ability to work independently and as a team player

  • A self-starter who can demonstrate the drive and ambition that fits with the UA culture.

  • Able to demonstrate strong negotiation skills.

  • Ability to work cross functionally with internal and external stakeholders to drive efficiencies and results

  • Fluent in English (other languages desirable but not essential)

Workplace Location

  • Location: Hybrid working in Under Armour office at JD Sports, Bury (North West UK) and working remotely from home.

  • Return to Work Designation: This individual must be willing to travel to the UA office (Bury) a minimum of 2 x per week.

  • Travel: There will be some expectation to travel to the Under Armour Amsterdam Office at times during the seasonal GTM process and occasional EMEA market trips: 20%
