We are seeking a motivated and talented Director, Benefits and Compensation to lead our benefits and compensation programs. Reporting to the Chief Human Resources Officer, the Director, Benefits and Compensation will be instrumental in continuing to build our people-focused culture through partnership and collaboration with our Human Resources and Operations teams.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead with empathy, strong communication, and a people-focused approach to achieve successful results across the company.

  • Support and shape the company’s people-focused culture by promoting inclusivity, diversity, and collaboration by reinforcing positive workplace values and encouraging teamwork through outward messaging to potential candidates.

  • Provides strategic direction and oversight for the company’s benefit plans, leave programs and compensation initiatives to support company initiatives and values.

  • Partner with Benefits & Retirement plan advisors to recommend programs for the organization by assessing employee & company needs, plan data and understanding related laws. Review reports monthly and provide any significant trends or information to CHRO and CFO.

  • Effectively and consistently manages relationship with healthcare and benefit providers, benefits advisors, and all other key stakeholders associated with providing benefits.

  • Lead review of benefit programs during due diligence processes to identify any challenges or transition issues that may arise as part of integrating the new team into Verdantas programs.

  • Lead integration of benefit programs each year for legacy companies. Drive communications and ensure education for team around changes they will experience and how we are supporting them through those changes.

  • Lead benefits and compensation compliance activities across the organization and assist integrating companies with wrapping up their compliance needs as they end their legacy programs.

  • Develop and deliver benefits education programs regularly throughout the company to maximize employee understanding of how to best utilize the benefits we offer.

  • Ensure compensation programs are reviewed for internal equity and external competitiveness at least annually. Prepare all compensation events in HCM.

  • Provides ongoing oversight, direction and supervision for Benefits and Compensation Specialist. Trains team members, for purposes of upgrading skills, knowledge, and competencies.

  • Identify, implement, and administer technology options in the Benefits and Compensation realm to drive simplification and ease of use for employees, supervisors, and HR team.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Human Resources Management, Business Management, Finance, or a related field of study.

  • Minimum of ten (10) years of experience in benefits and compensation programs with three (3) of those years involving strategic planning, plan oversight & analysis and implementation of recommendations.

  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience effectively managing and supervising direct reports.

  • Ability to think strategically and execute effectively, make measurable progress on multiple high priorities simultaneously, lead, motivate and hold others accountable, drive results, successfully resolve complex issues, and establish and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders.

  • Must have exceptional communication, presentation, time and project management, interpersonal, and analytical skills.

  • Strong technical skills in using Microsoft Office environment. Intermediate to advanced use of excel, power point and communications platforms highly preferred.

  • CEBS, CBP or CCP designations are desirable.

  • Must be able to travel 10-15% annually.

  • Strong and deep benefits background in a fast-paced organization

  • Customer service approach to employees and team members (lead but roll up your sleeves).

  • Experience in at least one organization over 1,000 employees.
