Description
SAIC has an opening for a Principal Data Scientist to join our talented, dynamic team.
This role is 100% remote
The key responsibilities for this position include:
Works in cross-functional teams with data at all stages of the analysis lifecycle to derive actionable insight.
Translates mission needs into an end-to-end analytical approach to achieve results.
Performs the pre-analytics areas of data collection and understanding, data cleansing and integration, and data storage and retrieval.
Determines the appropriate analytics based on the data and the desired outcomes, using techniques including feature detection, statistics, data mining, predictive modeling, machine learning, natural language processing, and business intelligence.
Interprets the validity of results and communicates the meaning of those results.
Has familiarity with data wrangling, analytics, and visualization software and programming languages, including analytics methods for big data.
Follows a scientific approach to generate value from data, verifying results at each step
Qualifications
Required Skills:
Ability to prioritize work and deliver well thought out and organized products within deadlines.
Demonstrated understanding of Big Data / Data Engineering principals and their application within AWS and / or Azure.
Knowledge of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) concepts and/or tools.
Comprehensive technical expertise in a variety of AI / ML Tool sets to include but not limited Databricks, snowflake, or comparable technologies.
Proficiency with scripting and programming languages such as Ansible, Bash, and Python.
Proficiency with reporting tools, PowerBI and comparable technologies
Experience / Certification(s) with Microsoft Azure Gov Cloud and/ or Amazon Web Services (AWS).
Experience with NO SQL databases to include MongoDB and comparable technologies.
Proven capacity for thinking leadership and a highly creative problem-solver.
Agility to express technical information clearly to different organizational levels.
Must possess excellent analytical and interpersonal skills.
Familiarity with Azure / AWS policy, configuration, security management tools, and information security frameworks and standards.
Familiarity with messaging technologies and concepts.
Knowledge of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning concepts and/or tools.
Strong time management and coordination skills, and ability to adjust in fast-paced environment.
Strong verbal and written communication skills to include clear, authoritative, and professional written and verbal communication skills.
Required Experience and Education:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, electronics engineering, or other engineering or technical discipline is required (Master Degree in Big Data preferred).
9+ years of relevant experience.
Must be able to receive a Security Clearance / Public Trust
Preferred Skills and Experience:
Microsoft Azure Govt Cloud, certifications.
X.12 Transaction Guidelines (Claims Processing).
Experience working with different Database structures.
Experience working in with the Dept of Veterans’ Affairs and /or Dept of Defense.
Target salary range: $120,001 - $160,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
