UL, LLC Field Business Supervisor in Research Triangle Park, North Carolina

  • Implements and executes capacity and capability management under the guidance of the Business Manager.

  • Ensures effective workflow by engaging with cross functional leads and customers in order to understand scope of projects and technical needs to assign resources effectively.

  • Responsible for driving process improvements to ensure financial results are achieved.

  • Drives a high performing team by managing the performance and development of team members.

  • Operates effectively in the UL matrix to actively support and drive high performance culture changes, transformation efforts and people engagement.

  • Holds team and self-accountable for results, assists Business Manager in defining goals and performance objectives and metrics to execute strategy.

  • Develops and coaches by providing, training, career counseling, feedback, guidance to drive high performance and morale.

  • Ensures understanding of and compliance with all established policies and requirements. Increases customer loyalty, anticipates customer needs and provides proactive solutions.

  • Gathers, shares, and responds to customer feedback. Coaches and mentors employees to do the same.

  • Supports sales by building relationships with customers, requiring a deep understanding of what is in pipeline, obtaining feedback on how UL can do better, what is working well and identifies actions and solutions.

  • Provides direct support to customers and team by providing technical guidance and to complete projects and address all issues arising needing resolution (i.e..

  • customer complaints, unusual requests, technical advice).

  • Ensures quality and adherence to policies and standards requirements.

  • Leads and/or participates in discussions to drive business initiatives through brainstorming discussions.

  • Empowers and holds team accountable to find new opportunities to effectively drive growth & financial goals (revenue, profit, enterprise value, etc. ).

  • Assigns work tasks and estimates staffing requirements to meet customer needs.

  • Manages the performance of direct reports by defining accountabilities, establishing performance objectives, providing feedback and guidance, and ensuring that all policies are understood and adhered to.

  • Communicates and exemplifies ULs Vision and Mission.

  • Leads, promotes and embraces change through self and team.

  • Collaborates and builds trust within the organization and with customers to meet or exceed their expectations.

  • Develops strong, flexible cross functional networks and global relationships to promote becoming the fastest, highest quality and most customer-friendly organization. Coaches and mentors employees to do the same.

  • Read and follow the Underwriters Laboratories Code of Conduct and follow all physical and digital security practices.

LI-Remote

  • Bachelors' degree or diploma from an accredited university through a formal program of study in Engineering or relevant Engineering Discipline (such as Engineering Technology, Manufacturing Technology or Physics but not limited to these disciplines only) generally ten years directly related experience a plus

  • Extensive Alarm Industry Experience

  • Knowledge of how decisions impact business results, working with a remote based team across North America, planning and thinking strategically. Take calculated risks and plan for contingencies.

  • Demonstrate the ability to manage a employee performance using performance expectations, goals, and responding to employee relations issues.

  • Ability to make the complex simple and present information in a concise, relevant and powerful manner.

  • Analyze and interpret analyses, data, process documents and plans.

  • Ability to listen, learn and teach.

  • Demonstrate awareness of the challenges of working in diverse cultural environments.

  • Proficiency in local language and basic English.

  • Excel in customer collaboration, project management and business acumen skills.

  • Total Rewards: In the United States, the salary range for this position is USD $99,000 - $125,000. All employees at UL Solutions are eligible for annual bonus compensation. The target for this position is 10% of the base salary offered. Employees are eligible for health benefits such as medical, dental and vision; wellness benefits such as mental & financial health; and retirement savings (401K) commensurate with the standard rewards offered in each individual location or country, for the relevant position level. We also provide employees with paid time off including vacation (15 days), holiday including floating holidays (12 days) and sick time off (72 hours).
