Type: Non-Exempt

Work Schedule: Full-Time Day Shift

Compensation: Competitive wages dependent upon experience.

Skookum is seeking a passionate and self-motivated Janitor with a can-do attitude.

Typical duties include but are not limited to:

  • Carpet spotting – spot clean heavily soiled carpet prior to shampooing. Loading and unloading of packages with the use of a forklift.

  • Carpet shampooing – operate industrial carpet cleaner to shampoo carpets according to schedule.

  • Sweeping – sweep each area according to schedule. Putting stock away in bins.

  • Vacuuming—vacuum each area according to schedule

  • Wet/dry vacuum—operate wet/dry vacuum for each area according to schedule.

  • Clean & disinfect surfaces.

  • Fill and empty mop buckets.

  • Clean and put away equipment after usage.

  • Clean windows, glass partitions, mirrors, and other glass surfaces of building interior or exterior.

  • Use various types of window cleaning equipment to include squeegee, tucker pole, and other specialized equipment.

  • Required to use ladders/elevated platforms of various heights to clean windows.

  • Required to use man lifts to clean exterior windows.

  • Maintain window cleaning equipment in good repair.

  • Communicating with customers – maintain windows schedule, to include coordinating with the customer, in a courteous and professional manner.

  • Perform general janitorial and cleaning duties as required by the customer.

  • Clean office and labs as required.

  • May be required to work off shift as needed.

  • Fill onsite trailer freshwater tank as needed.

  • Escort vendors onsite as needed.

Qualifications:

  • 0-1 year experience in facilities maintenance or custodial capacity preferred.

  • Must be able to work independently and as part of a team.

Physical Requirements:

Employees must have the ability to perform the following physical demands for extended periods of time with or without assistance. The physical demands of this position may be reasonably accommodated for individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions on a case-by-case basis.

  • Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

  • May be required to reach, kneel, walk, stand, and use repetitive motion for several hours at a time based on position duties.

  • May be climbing in and out of a vehicle, and up and down stairs may also be required.

  • Must be able to maintain stamina and work effectively under pressure to perform assigned duties.

Requirements:

  • Valid state driver’s license is required with the ability to obtain and maintain coverage by Skookum’s insurance.

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain applicable security clearances and installation access. A background check, drug screening, and E-Verify will be conducted for this position.
