U.S. Army Joint Munitions Command Logistics Management Specialist in Rock Island, Illinois

About the Position: This position serves as a technical expert within a multi-functional team managing an ammunition logistics program, and coordinating and integrating acquisition and logistic functions on assigned ammunition items. This is a Temporary appointment NTE 12 months. See "Additional Information" section. Responsibilities Coordinates and accomplishes planning, development, and execution of assigned ammunition logistics lifecycle management programs. Develops strategies to streamline ammunition logistics activities for Army and other serviced customers. Provides guidance and program management to Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) tasked with formulating, coordinating and implementing ammunition logistics. Identifies potential problems concerning logistics readiness mission performance and resource availability within the Command. Analyzes and develop acquisition strategies for ammunition items and ensures ammunition components are in the right place at the right time. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications The Joint Munitions Command provides the Joint Force with ready, reliable, lethal munitions at the speed of war. JMC's mission is to support the production, storage, distribution, and demilitarization of munitions. This position serves as Logistics Management Specialist located at the Rock Island Army Ammunition Plant, which is a subordinate installation of JMC. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service which includes: evaluating data from ammunition logistics lifecycle management and logistics systems; reviewing ammunition program management regulatory guidance such as receipt, storage, issue, transportation, inventory, and maintenance; utilizing systems such as or similar to Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) to perform surveillance over production plans for assigned items; assisting in the coordination and/or execution of ammunition acquisition, production or sustainment action; and reviewing production activities from Army, Foreign Military Sales and/or other joint services customers. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Organizational Awareness Planning and Evaluating Strategic Thinking Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12).
