Description We are offering an employment opportunity in the Accounting sector located in Rockford, Illinois. The role entails functioning as an Accounting Assistant in a dynamic workplace setting. This role offers a contract employment opportunity with an emphasis on versatility and adaptability.
Responsibilities:
• Demonstrate self-starting qualities with the ability to work independently
• Exhibit excellent time management skills and the ability to multi-task and prioritize work
• Assist members who come into the office with inquiries and ensure they connect with the appropriate person if necessary
• Maintain membership data in eligibility software, including performing address changes, adding new members, and recording payments by members for health coverage
• Manage bookkeeping for multiple separate Trust Funds, including depositing checks, recording weekly payroll entry, and reconciling bank statements
• Prepare monthly financial statements for each Trust Fund and contribution reports for Union benefits
• Show proficiency in QuickBooks and Microsoft Office, particularly in the preparation of ad hoc reports in Excel
• Maintain electronic participant files and assist in the preparation of reports for quarterly Board meetings
• Address customer service responsibilities, including answering phones, assisting members with questions, and forwarding any relevant claims for processing. Requirements
• Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems
• Experience with ADP - Financial Services
• Familiarity with Great Plains (GPAC)
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suites
• Understanding of Accounting Functions
• Familiar with Accounts Payable (AP)
• Familiar with Accounts Receivable (AR)
• Experience with Billing Functions
• Knowledge of Cash Activity
• Proficiency in QuickBooks
• Support with CSR duties
