Move United, an affiliate of the U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Committee and a national leader in sports and recreation for individuals with disabilities is seeking someone with direct, and preferably lived experience as a disabled Veteran to fill the position of Member Services Specialist - Warfighters to support its Warfighter Ambassador Program.? General Description (Position Overview)?

The Member Services Specialist - Warfighters is part of the overall Move United team with responsibility for coordinating its Warfighter Ambassador Program.? This includes all aspects of an Ambassadors experience, including but not limited to recruiting and vetting potential Ambassadors, onboarding, training, curating events, developing educational resources and benefits for participants.? The Member Services Specialist - Warfighters will ensure Ambassadors are both well trained and resourced to educate both the public and fellow Veterans about adaptive sports and recreation.? Activities and skills important to this position include project management, excellent communication and outreach, as well as confident abilities to use a range of software and technology to organize and implement the program.?

The Member Services Specialist - Warfighters will support the Individual Membership Manager to further the Move United strategic plan.

?

Teamwork and cross-sectional support, work, responsibility, and execution are cultural pillars to working at Move United. The Member Services Specialist - Warfighters will regularly interface with and support the efforts of other areas in the organization including communications, marketing, programs, membership and events.?

The Member Services Specialist - Warfighters will act as a key representative for Move United at events and some travel, including weekends, is required.?

Specific Responsibilities?

Outreach and Communication?

  • Oversee a recruitment strategy for new Warfighter Ambassadors including (but not limited to) working with military, non-profit partners, Move United organizational members and VA partners to identify candidates.?

  • Coordinate the design, content and delivery of monthly communications to Warfighter Ambassadors via email and other channels.?

  • Answer questions and communicate with Ambassador members regularly.?

  • Oversees and makes regular updates to the Warfighter Ambassador web page?

  • Provide online content, brochures, event supplies and other communication tools that Warfighter Ambassadors need to educate fellow Veterans both virtually and in-person.?

  • Communicate education resources and training opportunities to Move United Ambassadors.?

  • Work with various Move United departments to communicate participation, competitive, volunteer and awareness building opportunities to Warfighter Ambassadors.?

Ambassador Management?

  • Work with the Individual Membership Manager and the Warfighter Services Committee to create and follow a Warfighter Ambassador strategic plan that aligns with Move Uniteds vision.?

  • Oversee the Warfighter Ambassador application and onboarding process, including (but not limited to)

  • Working with the Member Services team to develop target metrics for the Warfighter Ambassador program and reporting on progress, and program outcomes.?

  • Hosting quarterly new Ambassador orientation virtual sessions?

  • Providing welcome packs, supplies and information to new Ambassadors?

  • Event and program recruitment and registration?

  • Ambassador and/or Veteran management onsite at selected events?

Ambassador Education

  • Liase with the Move United Education team to design and develop educational materials that ambassadors require?

  • Relay the needs of Ambassadors to the Move United Education department and assist with content creation?

  • Work with the Education department to facilitate virtual and in-person training and education opportunities?

Cross Departmental?

  • The Member Services Specialist - Warfighters may be called upon to support other departments, particularly as it relates to Move Uniteds signature events each year: Education Conference, Nationals and The Hartford Ski Spectacular?

  • The Member Services Specialist - Warfighters reports to the Individual Membership Manager?
