Actalent Process Engineer in Rocky Mount, North Carolina
Job Title: Process EngineerJob Description
The Process Engineer will primarily be on the production floor identifying areas for improved efficiencies and maintaining product quality through all phases of production. This includes operational parameters of manufacturing equipment, automation control, processing dynamics, and integrated utilities to identify and resolve quality, and technical risks to manufacturing. The incumbent will provide process engineering support for cGMP commercial manufacturing processes and equipment, analyze repeated issues with equipment, and ensure operational success of the maintenance coverage program. You will be expected to provide technical guidance and training on process equipment and automation systems to production colleagues, and work closely with technical services to develop and confirm Critical and Key Process Parameters needed for Equipment and Process Validation. This role will also support process engineering efforts in R3, the new building being pushed towards commercialization. You will be interacting with operators, reviewing SOPs for gaps and watching the process on the floor most of the time with the goal to make it as fail proof as possible.
Hard Skills
Bachelors Degree in Engineering (mechanical, industrial, chemical)
5-10 years of experience in a process engineering capacity
Experience in GMP biopharmaceutical industry
Experience with parenteral manufacturing
Knowledge on Synagogue, Bosch, or Optima equipment
Soft Skills
Adept at identifying and implementing process improvements on the floor
Ability to interact with operators
Ability to review SOPs for gaps
Ability to gown up for process
Job Type
This is a contract position with a duration of 12 Month(s).
Work Site
This is a fully on-site position in Rocky Mount, North Carolina.
Work Environment
This role is based in a start-up facility and manufacturing environment. Work will primarily be on the floor, supporting operations and seeking out process improvements. You will also be responsible for creating documentation and SOPs for future training. Note: This position operates on a 2-2-3 schedule (2 days on, 2 days off, 3 days on, 3 days off), requiring you to work every other weekend. Shifts are 12 hours long, from 7 am to 7 pm.
