S&K Electronics in Pablo is hiring a Janitor. Functional Role: The basic function of the Janitor is to provide the necessary oversight, care, maintenance, and housekeeping of S&K Electronics? buildings, fixtures and grounds including seasonal maintenance such as lawn mowing, trimming and raking or snow removal from sidewalks and spreading de-icer as necessary. Internal building maintenance will be the main focus of this position. Special Conditions: This is a Testing Designated Position (TDP) within the definition of the S&K Electronics, Inc. Drug and Alcohol-Free Workplace Policy PPpo-140. The successful applicant, if not already employed by SKE, must pass a pre-hire drug test. Incumbents will be subject to random, post-accident and reasonable suspicion testing. Requirements. A.Education: Required: High School Diploma or GED B. Experience: Required: None Required Preferred: 3 years? experience commercial janitorial environment. C. Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: Must understand and be able to perform basic maintenance tasks. D. Physical: Body Positions: Standing, sitting, kneeling, bending Body Movements: Carrying, lifting and carrying for short distances without mechanical assistance (up to 50 pounds), climbing, crawling (under machinery for preventive maintenance and repairs). Lifting of items weighing in excess of 50 pounds will be done by two or more persons, depending on the weight and size of the item to be lifted. E. Mental: Requires command of the English language in reading, writing, and oral communications. General skills in maintenance and janitorial settings with the ability to problem solve and exhibit good judgment. F. Working Conditions: Work indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions. G. Reporting Relationships: Janitor reports to the President or designee. Authority: The Maintenance Technician/Coordinator gives the Maintenance/Janitor(s) all authority necessary to conduct and administer the maintenance and janitorial responsibilities of the facilities. Responsibilities: The principle responsibilities/duties of the Maintenance/Janitor consist of, but are not limited to the following: A. Perform janitorial and grounds keeping in and around the facility. B. Complete assigned repair or remodel projects in a timely manner. C. Comply with established safety policies and procedures in performance of all assigned tasks. D. Move office furniture; relocate plant fixtures and utility access upon request and approval. E. Work with Facility Maintenance, President & Facility Manager to prioritize and schedule work projects accommodating other departments? down time as much as possible. F. Order, store and maintain adequate stock of maintenance and janitorial supplies, materials and equipment to insure availability as needed to perform required duties. G. Maintain all required equipment and tools in serviceable condition. H. Report daily to President or his/her designee on work pending and projects in process. I. Communicate and work with all employees in a cordial and professional manner. J. Other duties as required or assigned by the President or his designee.
