Corewell Health Clinical Research Coordinator I in Royal Oak, Michigan

Job Summary

The Clinical Research Coordinator I position can function as study personnel or regulatory staff. The CRC I study personnel is responsible for coordinating appropriate research studies, including subject recruitment, follow up, and data management. The CRC I Regulatory staff coordinates processes related to HIC business in order to ensure compliance with institutional policies and federal guidelines governing human subjects research.

Essential Functions

  • Communicates with study sponsors, research team and IRB. Assists with basic regulatory document preparation and/or review (as appropriate), e.g. Amendments, AE reporting to IRB, assessment and reporting of protocol deviations with oversight. May conduct review of regulatory documents such as IRB Applications, consents, progress reports and protocol deviations, per FDA and OHRP regulations.

  • Participates in subject screening, recruitment and enrollment. Consent and conduct research visits for data collection/no risk trials or no study article/minimal risk trials with oversight. Responsible for collecting, processing and shipping of research specimens. With appropriate and specific training, may perform phlebotomy.

  • Documents study related information in CRFs or EDC, handles data queries and participates in monitoring visit. Obtain, review and maintain source documents.

  • Assist in review for approval (as appropriate) of research protocols submitted to IRB. Preview research consent to determine consistency with guidelines. Identify deficiencies in IRB submission documents, and work with submitting investigator to provide direction on submission requirements.

  • Maintains organization of all trial related documents and correspondence. Implement quality control and assurance methods.

  • Practice BH hospitality standards. Maintain professional and technical knowledge.

  • Subject/family communication; protect patient confidentiality.

Qualifications

Required

  • Required Bachelor's Degree in health-related field with two to five years relevant clinical experience OR two to five years research experience with National Research Certification (SoCRA or ACRP).

  • 2-5 years of experience. Required

  • CRT-Clinical Research Professional, Certified (CCRP) - SOCRA Society of Clinical Research Associates Upon Hire required Or

  • CRT-Clinical Research Coordinator, Certified (CCRC) - ACRP Association of Clinical Research Professionals Upon Hire required

Preferred

  • CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA American Heart Association preferred Or

  • CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - ARC American Red Cross preferred
