Pastry Chef (Saint James, NY) Operate and manage the pastry section of the kitchen. Supervise all kitchen functions including food purchasing, preparation and maintenance of quality standards, sanitation and cleanliness. Estimate and order ingredients, supplies and equipment. Monitor the bakery section of the kitchen to ensure health and safety compliance with the regulations. Identify staffing needs, help to recruit new personnel, and train them. Create new seasonal recipe ideas and actively share opinions and suggestions to improve kitchen environment and menus to keep up with the latest trends.
