Aerotek Maintenance Technician in Saint Paul, Minnesota

Job Title: Maintenance Technician $28-$32/hr Mid-shift

Job Description

The maintenance technician role entails conducting preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairing equipment used in steel plate and steel coil manufacturing. This includes working on plasma tables and steel coil lines, as well as performing some preventive maintenance on forklifts. The technician will spend approximately 75% of their time in the production area, handling maintenance tasks and resolving equipment breakdowns.

Responsibilities

  • Perform general maintenance on plant equipment, including lubrication, monitoring, repairing, preventive maintenance, and inspections.

  • Complete work orders and identify potential equipment problems to initiate improvement projects.

  • Communicate with operators to ensure a smooth flow of operations and address any equipment concerns.

  • Troubleshoot and repair various mechanical and electrical components, including motors, hydraulics, pneumatics, and PLC systems.

  • Conduct welding tasks as needed for equipment maintenance and repair.

Work Environment

The work schedule consists of a 4x10 arrangement from Monday to Thursday, with shifts either from 1 PM to 11:30 PM or from 10 AM to 8:30 PM. This role includes being on-call about once a month. The job is set in a vast warehouse, originally put in place for building warships. The facility lacks climate control, leading to hot temperatures in the summer and cold temperatures in the winter, with frequent fluctuations due to the constant opening and closing of doors.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $32.00 - $36.00/hr.
