SALT LAKE COMMUNITY COLLEGE Assistant Professor, Business Management in SALT LAKE CITY, Utah

When you are chosen as the finalist for this position; under general supervision, the Assistant Professor will prepare and teach a broad variety of courses in business management and other business related courses to community college students. The faculty member may be assigned to any SLCC location, including the SLCC Prison Education Program. The selected candidate will be required to teach in-person, live-stream, and online courses, and may be assigned to alternative work schedules. The selected candidate must be willing to serve as a faculty advisor for a students club and assist with the study abroad program.

 

Responsibilities & Duties:

 Effectively prepare and teach management and other related business classes to facilitate student learning. Work with students in and outside the classroom. Employ productive and pedagogically sound avenues for distance education. Communicating with students in a timely manner via email, text, phone, or the learning management system. Assess student performance and maintain student records. Develop, distribute and adhere to current course syllabi and calendars. Maintain regularly scheduled consultation/office hours. 

 Maintain currency in theory and practice of teaching disciplines through professional development. Maintain Required Training. Demonstrate professional commitment to department, division, school, and college mission and values. Demonstrate commitment to professional development and make significant contributions to the Business Management Department. Evidence a supportive attitude toward work, students, colleagues, and administration. Attend New Faculty Orientation and professional development and training opportunities as suggested by the Associate Dean. 

 Provide service to the college and community. Attend regularly scheduled department, division, school, and college meetings and workshops and accept committee assignments. Assist with promoting the college and business programs at informational and recruiting events. Support department, division, and school guidelines and college policies and procedures. 

 Accept duties as assigned.
