Description

Wheeler Machinery Co. is seeking to hire a qualified Field Service Technician along the Wasatch Front. This full-time benefited position will be responsible for performing accurate troubleshooting & diagnosing, timely repairs, and component installation on all models of CAT equipment. This opening will require the technician to work in the field out of a F-150 or equivalent sized truck.

Wheeler Machinery Field Technicians will perform troubleshooting and repairs on all models of Caterpillar equipment, to ensure proper factory specifications and correct system operation. This may include disassembly and assembly, diagnosis, testing, inspection.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Utilize TRACK and safe working habits in all aspects.

  • Perform Field Service troubleshooting and repair work on all models of CAT equipment.

  • Must comply with all DOT regulations.

  • Maintain field service truck and company provided equipment.

  • Order and Return parts.

  • Maintain and complete daily reports, paperwork, DOT logs, inspections, and timecards.

  • Demonstrate excellent work ethic with self-motivation, ability to work safely with minimal supervision on customer job sites, while maintaining expectations of thoroughness.

  • Have the ability to keep up with new technology and advancements.

Required Qualifications:

  • Must be willing to work out of town, overtime and weekends as needed.

  • Must maintain company provided truck, tooling and equipment.

  • Have and maintain a clean MVR (no more than 1 moving violation under the age of 25, and no more than 2 if over the age of 25).

  • Must supply own tooling on the truck. Wheeler will provide specialized tooling.

  • Good working knowledge of Caterpillar equipment, components, and systems.

  • Demonstrated excellent work ethic with self-motivation, ability to work safe with minimal supervision on customer job sites, while maintaining dealership expectations of thoroughness and customer service.

  • Have the ability to keep up with new technology and advancements.

  • Current MSHA certification.
