ARUP LABORATORIES Medical Laboratory Scientist III (PERM) in SALT LAKE CITY, Utah
ARUP Laboratories in Salt Lake City, Utah is hiring for full-time Medical Laboratory Scientist III (NYQ), 3 openings. The Medical Laboratory Scientist III NYQ in the Bacteriology laboratory will provide services of a technical nature for automated, semi-automated, and manual testing to detect a variety of infectious diseases. Will perform routine and complex lab tests to provide physicians with rapid and accurate results; will participate in preparing specimens for processing; perform waived, moderate, and highly complex analytical processes; establish, perform, and document quality assurance, quality control, and equipment maintenance; confirm and verify results through in-depth knowledge of techniques, principles, and instruments; correlate and interpret data based on knowledge of factors affecting test results; data handling and input. This position is qualified to perform delegated NY supervisory duties of quality control reviews, quality assurance activities and direct observation of competency assessments. Testing within the department includes identification of pathogens in routine bacteriology cultures (respiratory, urine, blood, wounds, etc), susceptibility testing using the BD Phoenix, operating WASPlab, and performing rapid molecular assays on TORCH. Requires Bachelor's degree in Clinical or Medical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology or in the chemical or biological sciences; and ASCP or AAB certification as MLS or MT.
