Hourly Pay Range (Minimum - Midpoint - Maximum):

$63.371 - $81.769 - $100.166

The stated pay scale reflects the range that Sharp reasonably expects to pay for this position.  The actual pay rate and pay grade for this position will be dependent on a variety of factors, including an applicant’s years of experience, unique skills and abilities, education, alignment with similar internal candidates, marketplace factors, other requirements for the position, and employer business practices.

What You Will Do

Reviews, analyzes and designs an architecture for an enterprise level data governance model to address the various business entities within the organization. Provide expertise on data fields for the development of definitions and data ownership within Sharp HealthCare.

Develop a strategy for data governance that will lead to implementation and ongoing support. Act as a liaison with various staff levels to communicate and educate on data governance procedures. Assist data owners and data stewards with training, implementation and ongoing support.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree with a minimum 10 years of experience in Data Analytics, Data Mining and/or Data Governance Or

  • Master's Degree with a minimum 7 years experience.

  • 5 Years experience that includes data warehousing activities as an analyst, developer or data architect.

Essential Functions

  • Client servicesManages interactions with team members, data owners, data stewards and leadership for the achievement of department goals and business needs.Identifies data stewards for data definition development and ongoing update.Develops implementation strategy and data steward processes to assist clients with departmental procedures.Coordinates client meetings as needed to train new data stewards and/or develop data dictionary documentation.Develops relationships with client leadership to understand business operations and entity goals.Provides updates to management on overall department goals for the completion and maintenance of enterprise wide documentation.Establish reporting and communication channels that will support ongoing data governance activities.

  • Data managementParticipate in the execution of a multi domain, healthcare centric Master Data Management program.Plan and lead MDM requirement analysis sessions with enterprise business users.Define measurable metrics and the minimal required attributes for each domain or subject area to support a robust and successful deployment of each domain.Define requirements for data matching and merging rules, survivorship criteria and data stewardship workflows using Informatica toolsets.Thorough understanding of deterministic and probabilistic matching methodologies and master data hierarchy management.

  • Data qualityUtilizes effective analysis and creative problem solving techniques within Information Systems accepted framework to develop quality services and resolve problems.Develops and maintains an extraordinarily high level of skill in information technologies applicable to Sharp.Extremely flexible in recommending the appropriate solutions to meet Sharp’s needs, regardless of vendor.Is viewed by others as the in-house technical expert on data quality.Performs cost-benefit analysis, data profiling and uses own discretion to determine resolution to quality issues.Analyzes organization needs/requirements through a variety of appropriate methods such as: on site visits; review of system capabilities, historical data; ensuring attainment of optimal functionality; user satisfaction.Develops a comprehensive analysis of pros/cons and implications of proposed solutions.Demonstrates strategic and forward thinking by conducting thorough analyses of downstream and upstream impact of data quality issues and proposed solutions.Uses effective interviewing skills to elicit enterprise requirements and long-term goals.

  • LeadershipExercises leadership role with staff and clients to promote customer satisfaction and staff development.Acts as a mentor for all staff in the group.Works with individuals in addition to providing group education sessions on data quality/governance awareness.Reviews the need for training and recommends the appropriate training programs for designated individuals or workgroups in system functions and operations in order to maximize user effectiveness.Manages client expectations and priorities through effective communication and interaction.Resolves conflicts with client expectations and department issues.Works with project managers to identify tasks and timelines for projects related to data governance and data quality.Manages interactions with clients to ensure understanding, agreement and attainment of project goals.Trains new staff in system functions and operations in order to maximize user effectiveness and utilization of data governance systems.Cross-trains with other departments.Regularly keeps manager informed through activity reports monthly, or a frequency as established by the manager and requires minimal supervision.Demonstrates ability to independently perform other departmental tasks not specific to data architecture.

  • Project managementDemonstrates consistent and effective application of Project Management techniques.Creates and maintains a matrix of all assigned projects using appropriate prioritization, timing and creativity, such that projects are completed on time and within resource constraints.Communicates in a timely fashion both to the requestor and management when project schedules may not be meet.Provides executable alternative solutions to work around resource constraints.Analyzes department and client needs to develop a workable training plan and executes training plan appropriately.Determines and plans for appropriate project task support and task communication.Develops resource allocation and scheduling requirements using knowledge of company and IS Guiding Principles.Through incorporation and integration of analyses, as well as sound professional judgment regarding project requirements develops a comprehensive project plan.Determines an accurate scope, definition, and charter for the project.Uses knowledge of IS standards and proactive thinking to determine functional specifications per IS standards.Performs comprehensive risk identification.Ensures adequate communication of project related issues.Establishes and completes project documentation requirements in a timely manner.Develops monthly status reports on all assigned projects.

  • Governance architectureUtilizes effective analysis and design to create a sustainable data governance model that will support the enterprise.Develops standards and processes to insure best practices are utilized throughout the development of the governance structure.Utilizes IS standard tools to map source system data to the data warehouse.Designs data governance model that will utilize standard quality tools to meet business needs.Works with technical resources to implement software or build governance structure to accomplish objectives.Develops a process to create a data dictionary structure that can be maintained by data owners across the Sharp enterprise.Provides expertise for development and design for all new data sources.Creates documentation and release notes for thorough project tracking.Work with other IT departments to further expand the data governance structure to applications outside the prevue of Decision Support.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Strong attention to detail and understanding of various data systems, data sources and system platforms.

  • Solid verbal and written communication skills and hands-on experience with MS Office products.
