Scripps Health Pharmacy Technician Specialist - Medication History in San Diego, California
- This is a full time position with varied shifts. Shifts are 8 hoursbetween 5:00am and 1:00am as assigned, including every other weekend.*

As part of the Scripps Health pharmacy team, pharmacists and pharmacy technicians provide a broad range of clinical services at our sites and work collaboratively with physicians, nurses and other health care team members to deliver high-quality, efficient services to patients and staff. The Medication History Technician will join the elite team at Scripps Memorial Hospital Encinitas.
Responsibilities include:
Obtain medication histories in an accurate, professional and efficient manner for patients newly admitted to the hospital while in the Emergency Department
Contacting community pharmacies, outpatient providers, and patient family members to obtain needed medication information and coordinate care
Complete assigned leadership roles in departmental projects and programs
Performing basic pharmacy technician duties and more advanced pharmacy technician duties
Experience/Specialized Skills:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Required Certification/Registration:
- Current Pharmacy Technician License.
- Certification by a National Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (CPhT) required within 6 months of hire.
- Minimum 2 years pharmacy technician experience.
Required Education/Course(s)/Training:
- 5 years inpatient experience preferred
