Description
Our client, a leading organization in the construction industry, is seeking a Senior Human Resources Generalist to join their team. Renowned for delivering high-quality projects and innovative solutions, this company fosters a collaborative and supportive work environment.
Responsibilities
Act as a trusted advisor to management and employees by addressing workplace issues, providing guidance, and resolving employee concerns swiftly and effectively.
Lead the recruitment process by sourcing, interviewing, and selecting top talent aligned with the needs of the construction industry. Ensure smooth onboarding processes to integrate new team members effectively.
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws, particularly those related to construction and field-work environments. Update and enforce HR policies in line with regulations and organizational goals.
Administer and explain benefits programs, including health, wellness, and retirement plans. Benchmark compensation structures to ensure competitive hiring and retention practices.
Design and implement training programs tailored to the unique needs of construction professionals, focusing on compliance, safety, leadership, and professional development.
Collaborate with safety teams to ensure compliance with OSHA and other safety regulations, striving to maintain a safe and productive job site environment.
Maintain and enhance HR systems, ensuring accurate records and efficient processes related to payroll, benefits, and compliance.
Generate reports on HR metrics, workforce trends, and compliance data to support leadership in decision-making.
Requirements
5+ years of progressive HR experience, including at least 2 years in a senior or generalist role. Experience within the construction or related industries (e.g., engineering, manufacturing) is highly preferred.
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field required. SHRM-CP, PHR, or similar certifications are a plus.
Strong understanding of labor laws, OSHA compliance, and HR best practices specific to a construction or field-based workforce.
Proficiency with HRIS systems, applicant tracking systems (ATS), and office productivity tools.
Excellent communication, conflict resolution, and relationship-building skills.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while juggling multiple priorities and operating with a proactive, solution-oriented mindset
