ManTech Staff Systems Administrator in San Diego, California

ManTech seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented Systems Administrator to join our team in San Diego, CA . The position is onsite and night shift, working hours from 1-9AM.

The System Administrator (SA) is an instrumental part of a small, highly technical team providing WAN/LAN systems integration and support of a virtualized Windows client-server medium enterprise in a VMware Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) environment. The Help Desk supports approximately 1,000 users, and 40 remote sites with zero clients connecting to Windows workstations, multi-function printers, VoIP phones, and Video Teleconference systems. The team consists of a PM, three System Engineers and four other SAs.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to :

  • Tier1-2 help desk support for user issues reported over the phone or in the ticket system

  • Deploy Virtual Desktop Workstation Pools

  • Monitor system and network performance

  • Monitor backup jobs

  • Perform system maintenance

Minimum Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in the Information Technology field including Windows workstations, Windows servers, Active Directory and Exchange

  • 2+ years of experience supporting users and troubleshooting user issues

  • DoD 8570 IAT level 2 certifications: Security Preferred Qualifications

  • 5 years of experience working with DoD networks, network encryption devices

  • Experience installing and configuring Trellix Endpoint Security via Trellix ePO

  • Experience with VMware vSphere 7-8

Clearance Requirements:

  • Must be a US Citizen and have an active Secret clearance adjudicated within last 6 years and ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI clearance.

Physical Requirements:

  • The person in this position must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time

  • Occasionally install rack-mounted equipment, connect wires under desks, and assist with equipment deliveries
