Job Description Summary:
IQVIA’s Global Technology and Operations (GTO) group’s responsibility is expanding. To effectively navigate this increased scope of managing projects for our internal divisions, we're seeking to add a highly skilled and experienced Principal Enterprise Architect to join the Enterprise Architecture team within the Architecture and Standards Group (A&S) of our Global Technology & Operations organization.
Job Overview :
The Principal Enterprise Architect (EA) will be responsible to closely partner with IQVIA Business Unit teams to understand the business OKRs, help shape technology strategy aligned with enterprise standards and co-lead the design of high-level system architectures to deliver business outcomes. The EA will promote reusability, address technical debt and mitigate the proliferation of technology components, and services by championing “the IQVIA way” within the organization. The ideal candidate will have experience envisioning and contributing to the technology roadmap and IT strategy geared towards designing and implementing AI/GenAI enabled/supported initiatives covering use cases that leverage AI agents, and other tools/techniques and practices for modern software design and development.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the conceptualization and design of high-level system architectures which supports current and future IQVIA systems, products and platforms and satisfies business OKR’s.
Partner with BU product/system architects to co-design conceptual, contextual and logical architectures that deliver business use cases.
Be the thought leader with hands-on experience envisioning use and design of GenAI capabilities in IQVIA. Ideal candidate will have business domain knowledge and ideas on specific use cases to leverage GenAI delivering efficiencies and competitive edge.
Excels at communication at all levels of the organization and demonstrates dexterity with clear, succinct, and focused narrative to narrate an idea, get buy-in, deliver bad news and storytelling. Must show organized, non-verbose articulation and responses.
Partner with IQVIA Business Unit stakeholders to and work closely with engineering and product teams to champion event-based and/or microservices based architecture patterns leveraging domain driven design.
Help business leaders and their teams think through the technology, business and operational implications of their technology investment decisions.
Present to stakeholders how architectural options will meet their needs.
Be the Architecture thought leader and trusted go-to partner for Product and Engineering Leadership across the organization, recommending innovative solutions to improve live and new system architectures.
Partner with IQVIA Business Unit stakeholders to and work closely with engineering and product teams to promote our API-first development strategy.
Provide a wide-angle lens to inter-related business and technical capabilities by surfacing patterns of similar use cases.
Creating business cases to analyze, plan and prioritize investments in business capabilities.
Mapping business capabilities to underlying processes, systems, and technologies.
Partner with business line managers providing comprehensive technical and system expertise to synergize IT strategic direction and architectureconcepts.
Collaborate with A&S EA peers, TA and engineering community across IQVIA to intake and validate business use cases for shared services delivery.
Maintain the EA application portfolio for IQVIA. Promote and align stakeholders to maintain business and technology inventory.
Devises and presents complex business cases and program release plans to senior management with priority recommendations to maintain and evolve IQVIA's architecture roadmap.
Share insights, recommendations, and learnings cross-functionally and act as a consultant to provide system and technical advice.
Keeps abreast of new trends and technology changes and identifies opportunities for implementation in future systems.
Mentors and coaches peer architects across the organization.
Hands-on experience with API-first design concepts and implementation ideas, convergent thinking on problem solving within system context with an eye for scaling and reuse in the enterprise context.
Identifying competitors, industry leaders, peers and evaluate their use of technology relative to the enterprise; make practical recommendations on continuous improvement.
Preferred Skills and Experience:
Minimum 10 years of experience in software development and enterprise architecture and at least 7 - 10 years’ experience within enterprise architecture.
Experience developing strategic technology plans and roadmaps, including business architecture, value streams, capability maps & customer journeys.
Experience envisioning, designing, integrating reusable components and business use cases to leverage AI Agents in IQVIA.
Ability to present and communicate business and technical concepts.
Experience leading efforts to create technological solutions and architectures impacting critical areas of the business.
Strong leadership and negotiation skills with business and technical groups.
Ability to think critically and solve problems…
Demonstrated technology skills across multiple IT domains (e.g., application, security, infrastructure).
Strong consultative skills at a cross-functional level.
Experience in enterprise architecture or application architecture, application development and/or systems management.
Strong understanding and hands-on experience of event-driven architectures, microservices-based, RESTful and alternative styles and other modern architecture design techniques and best practices.
Deep knowledge of API-first design patterns.
Experience with on-premise solutions and cloud platforms and architectures on Azure, AWS.
Experience in Healthcare/Life Sciences preferred.

The potential base pay range for this role, when annualized, is $142,800.00 - $265,200.00. The actual base pay offered may vary based on a number of factors including job-related qualifications such as knowledge, skills, education, and experience; location; and/or schedule (full or part-time). Dependent on the position offered, incentive plans, bonuses, and/or other forms of compensation may be offered, in addition to a range of health and welfare and/or other benefits.
