Who we are looking for:

FCI is in search for a Printed Circuit Board Designer to join our team! This role requires a detail-oriented individual with a strong understanding of electronic principles, proficiency in PCB design, and ability to work collaboratively with engineering teams to ensure the successful implementation of designs. The successful candidate will be responsible for the ending process of PCB design, from initial concept through production, ensuring that all designs adhere to industry standards and company specifications.

The Job:

As a Printed Circuit Board Designer, you will be responsible for creating, designing and documenting PCB designs from the request of our electrical and mechanical engineers.

The individual will execute these designs to meet both the technical and manufacturability requirements.

Here are some examples of day-to-day duties:

  • Create schematics from engineering inputs.

  • Develop library parts, PCB layout designs, fabrications and assembly drawings.

  • Generate electronic files for bare board fabrication and PCB assembly processing.

  • Interface with PCB and PCA vendors.

  • Ensure the design of PCBs for manufacturability and collaborate with design engineers to create and modify drawings.

  • Maintain documentation through our document management database, ADEPT.

  • Develop support documentation for assembly, customer support, manufacturing test procedures and technical application notes.

  • Interpret and incorporate redline changes to existing engineering documents (ECN Process).

  • Generate Bill of Materials (BOMs), manufacturing work instructions, wiring and outlines of dimensional drawing diagrams.

    Safety

  • Follow safe work practices, participate in safety training as required, and report any unsafe condition or accident.

    Quality

  • Employees are responsible to understand and support the quality policy and the appropriate elements of the quality management system for their areas of work, reduce, eliminate, and prevent quality deficiencies including escapes.

  • Initiate action to prevent the occurrence of nonconformities related to product, process, and quality system.

  • All employees have the responsibility and authority to identify quality deficiencies, elevate any concerns for action within or related to our quality system and processes.

    The following experience, education, and qualifications are required to hold this position:

  • Associate Degree in Electro-Mechanical drafting and design (CAD), with emphasis on schematics and circuit board layout or equivalent 4-5 years work experience without a degree.

  • Knowledge of Circuit schematics, fabrication and assembly.

  • Demonstrated experience using 3-D modeling through SolidWorks, and AutoCAD software platforms.

  • Ability to prepare manufacturing work instructions with excellent documentation skills.

  • Familiarity with reading and interpreting electrical schematics and blueprints.

  • Experienced in using schematic capture, and circuit board layout tools like OrCAD, DxDesigner PADS flow, and PADS board layout using ECAD Tools.

    Physical/Travel Requirements

  • This position requires sitting, typing, and working at a computer station 80% of the time.

  • Minimum walking or standing and lifting up to 15 lbs. are required.

  • This position does not require travel.
