Team Overview

BlackRock SMA Solutions helps clients customize portfolios for unique tax, values-alignment, or investment exposures across direct indexing, fixed income, active equity, and multi-asset. We deliver world-class service to all of our clients, from wirehouses and wealth advisors to family offices to endowments and foundations.

The SMA Solutions COO team is dedicated to PROPELLING the SMA Solutions strategy; PARTNERING with the business on strategic initiatives while collaborating to ensure the right people are talking about the right things; and performing OVERSIGHT to ensure robust risk controls. Further, we are responsible for ensuring the overall health of the business through oversight of budget, forecast, expense and talent management processes. Reporting to the COO of the business, in this role you will play a key role in driving the strategic plan for the business, developing key narratives and analytics to help support and propel the strategy forward.

Key responsibilities

Lead Development and Tracking of Strategic Priorities:

  • Lead the annual planning process across the business including development of strategic objectives and financial targets

  • Partner with FP&A on budget and forecast processes

  • Cascade strategic plan and build understanding across

  • Monitor strategic objectives, measure progress across the business and communicate out

Presentations, Reporting and Analysis:

  • Articulate progress, challenges, and opportunities for business reviews and/or strategic funding requests

  • Aid senior management in organizing and producing presentation material

  • Coordinate across the organization to provide content and commentary for reporting deliverables

  • Assist in formulating business intelligence, insights and analytics

  • Translate sophisticated views and opinions into straightforward analyses

  • Oversee agendas and content for town halls, strategy workshops and other large group meetings

Qualifications

  • BA/BS degree required

  • 7+ years experience in financial services or similar role

  • Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills

  • Strong analytical, writing, organizational and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to produce management-level quality presentations and robust Excel models (forecasting, sensitivity analysis, summaries)

  • Effective project management capabilities with the ability to manage timelines and monitor progress across different working groups

  • Comfort with ambiguity

  • Experience working horizontally at all levels of seniority to build relationships with key partners to drive execution

  • Flexible, responsive, and self-starting personality with keen attention to detail

  • Demonstrated experience working both independently and as part of a team in a highly collaborative environment

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including ability to deliver presentations, coordinate with team members and senior leaders across the firm

For California only the salary range for this position is $137,500 - $194,000. Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, and benefits including heath care, leave benefits, and retirement benefits. BlackRock operates a pay-for-performance compensation philosophy and your total compensation may vary based on role, location, and firm, department and individual performance.
