Safe Harbor Savannah Yacht Center is seeking a highly organized marina professional with exceptional customer service and business organizing skills responsible for administering the marina operations, hard space logistics including the Shiplift yard and Graving Dock and assisting the towing operations team to ensure safe towing and dock operations. A critical operational role combining expertise in marina and shipyard logistics and customer service, the Dockmaster employs a friendly and accommodating demeanor and is adept at multi-tasking, prioritizing requests, and adhering to operational procedures while listening to and understanding customer needs with a reassuring style that exudes professionalism and integrity. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Manage all waterside operations. First point of contact for all incoming and departing vessels and boat movements. Maximize utilization and efficiency through accurate scheduling and communication for both in and out of water slips. Collaborate with Dock and Towing operations as well as Project Managers to ensure the highest level of customer service and satisfaction. Coordinate all inbound, outbound and inter-facility vessel movements. Assess the marina capacity and availability into the future. Analyze physical requirements of the vessel to determine appropriate slip locations. Consider safety and appropriate risk controls in all situations. Coordinate with Service Team to optimally utilize slip locations. Maintain a fluid slip schedule with frequent changes.? Able to communicate these changes to customers in a calm and professional manner. Achieve monthly performance targets such as revenue and utilization budgets. Update marina contacts, reservations, and email confirmations in CRM. Ensure all new arrivals are greeted and delivered the Safe Harbor onboarding package as well as completing the dockage agreements. Follow all arrival/departure procedures. Communicate slip assignments to all customers. POC between Savannah Yacht Center and Savannah Pilots Greets all customers and provide SYC Welcome Packet POC for all Savannah Yacht Center Leads/Reservations Slips, Utilities, Dockage Rates Arrival/Departure Dates Updates Vessel Contacts Maintains all information on Dock Calendar Manage all vessel movements. Manage DocksOrder equipment/materials. Maintain dockside cleanliness. Manage fueling day of the operation. Day of logistics Oversee day to day movements: Seventy-two hours prior to arrival or launch/departure contact vessel and confirm schedule. Update lead as/if necessary. Meeting invites to SYCTowing@shmarinas.com including: Vessel name, date, time, location to/from, tide Confirmation of tug captain attendance Contact Savannah River Pilots Discuss vessel schedule. Confirm presence onboard during movement. Discuss potential river traffic that conflicts with SYC vessel movement schedule. Contact Divers Discuss vessel schedule. Confirm number of divers and time needed onsite. Schedule and host pre-haul and pre-launch meetings with: Vessel representatives Project Manager Dockmaster Confirm resource availability for haul and rigging team, electricians for power supply and disconnect, and line handlers. Twenty-four hours in advance inform all boats adjacent to vessel scheduled to arrive, depart, or relocate of movement schedule. Ensure all floats, boarding platforms, scaffolding, etc. will not impede vessel movement. Escorts Towing Work with Towing Manager and assigned PM on Daily and Monthly checks. Schedule vendors for all John Deere and annual services Schedule additional yacht towing captains as needed. Ship Lift and Graving Dock operational oversight: Responsible for coordinating vessel movements, line-handling, radio communication between SYC and vessel, and Ship Lift movement or Graving Dock Flooding/Removal of water, assisting Dockmaster where and as necessary. Oversight of building blocks and setting up rail cars or Ship Lift Haul Out or Graving Dock Haul Out according to Vessels Docking Plan. Coordinate docking block set up with Dockmaster. Daily cord counts for both in-water and service (hard space) slips. Ability to work weekends and holidays. Ability to work overtime as needed. Other duties as assigned by Manager. Safety and Environmental Responsibilities Follow SHM Safety and Environmental rules and complete required related training Wear proper personal protective equipment (may include safety glasses, gloves, life jackets and/or hard hats) as required for the task or work area Report all accidents, injuries, spills and near misses immediately Technical and Physical Requirements Bachelors Degree: Masters preferred 3 to 5 years Marina/ Shipyard logistics experience or related business discipline.
