SUMMARY

We are currently working with an entrepreneurial, privately held design/build Engineering/Construction Company in Southern Butler County to identify a Controller with experience in the construction industry.

This design / build firm specializes in commercial, data center, healthcare, mission critical, and technology construction projects in a multistate environment. They do very little work in the low bid market, are highly client oriented, and pride themselves on being very open and honest with their clients. With a team of just over 40 people, the environment is friendly, family-oriented, and offers an excellent work life balance. Hard work does not go unrecognized, and they share their profits by offering a performance-based incentive program. This is a direct hire opportunity offering a competitive compensation package with a performance-based incentive program, full benefits package, and growth potential. Daylight Monday -- Friday schedule with very little overtime. While this is primarily an in-office role, work from home is situationally available. Travel is typically limited to once a year to take part in strategic planning.

POSITION

This position is ideal for individuals who are well versed in construction practices and either an experienced controller or someone who is ready to take the next step up in their career!

Reporting directly to the CEO, the controller is a key member of the sr. management team and will participate in strategic planning, perform due diligence, and create financial projections. Working with a team of two direct reports, you'll be responsible for providing construction financial management for all aspects of this national commercial design build contractor and coordinating a team of professionals to achieve the best results. Relationship management with subcontractors, equipment vendors, and material suppliers is essential to be effective in this role, as is problem solving skills and the ability to address issues with effective solutions

BASE REQUIREMENTS:

  • 10+ years' experience in commercial construction.

  • In-depth understanding of construction accounting and project management principles to include job costing and percentage of completion accounting.

  • Proficiency in various computer programs including construction-based accounting systems.

  • Strong presentation skills / Ability to confidently represent the company to clients, sr. management, and the board of directors.
