Robert Half Staff Accountant in Schaumburg, Illinois

Description We are seeking a meticulous Staff Accountant to join our healthcare team based in Schaumburg, Illinois. In this role, you will be responsible for key functions within the finance department, including general ledger account reconciliations, preparing journal entries, creating and maintaining periodic reporting, and assisting with the preparation of financial statements. This role will support the Accounting Manager in ensuring the timely completion of the month-end close and providing support during the year-end audit.

Responsibilities:

• Perform various month-end close processes, including the preparation of journal entries and account reconciliations

• Maintain and manage fixed assets and assist with the preparation of financial statements

• Engage with auditors and consultants to ensure timely resolution of fieldwork during audits

• Process and review Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), and General Ledger (GL) transactions to ensure accurate books and records

• Provide ad hoc support to the Accounting Manager and respond to other management requests

• Utilize software such as NetSuite, Oracle, QuickBooks, and SAP for various accounting functions

• Ensure compliance with GAAP, accrual accounting, and auditing requirements.

• Demonstrate strong attention to detail and communication skills in a cross-functional team environment

• Oversee multiple and competing projects in a fast-paced, changing team environment.

• Utilize advanced Excel skills for financial analysis and reporting. Requirements • Must have a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field

• Proven experience as a Staff Accountant within the Healthcare/NHS industry is preferred

• Extensive knowledge and experience with Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)

• Proficiency in conducting Bank Reconciliations

• Familiarity with General Ledger management and Journal Entries

• Experience with Month End Close procedures

• Proficiency in using NetSuite, Oracle, QuickBooks, and SAP for accounting tasks

• Audit experience, preferably within a Big 4 Accounting Firm

• Excellent numerical and analytical skills

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information

• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel

• Must be legally authorized to work in the specified country.
