Summary THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a AIRCRAFT ENGINE MECHANIC, Position Description Number D1636000 and is part of the 109TH AW, National Guard. This vacancy does not meet the criteria for appointment of annuitants. Responsibilities As a AIRCRAFT ENGINE MECHANIC WG-8602-10 you will troubleshoot, remove, repair, install, certify, test and perform operational checks on the turboprop engines, propellers, and associated propulsion system components. It also covers work involving engine accessories such as starters, generators, anti-icers, and fuel control devices when such assignments are incidental to work on the completed engine. Works also involves the review of engine/component records to determine cause of failure and the extent of disassembly and repair required in returning engine and/or component to operational condition. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Military Grades: Enlisted GENERAL EXPERIENCE: You must meet the following General requirements, experience or training that has provided the ability to perform assembly and disassembly operations and make prescribed modifications to aircraft engines, engine assemblies, and accessories in accordance with technical specifications, procedures, and requirements. Experience using hand and power tools common to the trade. Must have experience demonstrating the ability to: Analyze problems to identify significant factors, gather pertinent data, and recognize solutions; Plan and organize work; and Communicate effectively orally and in writing. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: You must meet the following Specialized Experience requirement or training of 1 year or more performing standard, routine assembly and disassembly operations and making prescribed modifications to aircraft engines, engine assemblies, and accessories. Experience or training performing maintenance overhaul, troubleshooting, testing, and repair of aircraft engines, engine components, and powertrains for fixed and/or rotary wing aircraft. Experience determining maintenance needed from work orders, inspection reports, historical records, and diagnosis. Education If using education to qualify for this position, master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree You must provide a copy of Official Transcripts as documentation to support your educational claims.
