Job Description
A federal client of Insight Global is looking for a Oracle DBA to:
Maintain and update the government-furnished Data Management Plan and supporting documentation.
Support database security, installation/migration, configuration/compatibility, and performance, load, and stress testing.
Satisfy Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG) requirements and functional patches.
Document connectivity of all installed devices related to the development environment.
Support operating system and database upgrades as they pertain to the applications stability and configuration soundness in the staging, production, and alternate environments.
Perform application software changes to accommodate system and database software and hardware upgrades and maintenance.
Maintain the Oracle database structures, space, users, purge jobs, and alerts associated with the Oracle environment.
Maintain the means to administer the addition, deletion, or modification of database structures, as required.
Operations include monitoring of alerts, queries, locking logger, access locks, and database performance.
Organize and maintain an appropriate structure to manage user access to the data warehouse and data that they have to access to.
Administer the operational aspects of BAR processes, to ensure that backup jobs finish as per service level commitments, and do not impact other business-critical operational processes; ensure the further maintenance of data compression and data retention/history maintenance; perform periodic backups and BAR administration to support restore.
Interface with the DECC Operational Support Team (OST), provider Help Desks, consumer Help Desks, TDOC, and other EOs as required to coordinate resolution of issues reported to the Help Desk.
Establish processes to handle cross-notifications between DLA, USTRANSCOM, source system, DISA, and other External Organization (EO) Help Desks. Level II and III Help Desk personnel.
Provide technical input during DECC hardware services Operating System (OS) patches, upgrades, and technical refreshes.
Provide technical input during technical interchange meetings, schedule de-confliction, and perform regression testing of COTS and IGC product baselines.
Coordinate with affected EOs, impacted providers, and consumer systems.
Perform COTS and IGC product baseline regression testing on the equipment, data migration, and testing.

Skills and Requirements
Active AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate, Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) - Oracle Database Administration, or Oracle Certified Master (OCM) - Oracle Database.
Must be comfortable and willing to satisfy DoD Cyber Workforce Framework (DCWF) certification/education requirements; This may include obtaining one of the following:
Intermediate: Bachelor's of Science degree, Cloud+, SSCP, Security+, GSEC
Advanced: CASP+, CCNP Security, CISA, CISSP, CISSP-ISSAP, CISSP-ISSEP
Proficient in Oracle Database administration, particularly adept in managing Real Application Clusters (RAC) and Automatic Storage Management (ASM) on Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8, with a demonstrated ability to efficiently oversee and enhance expansive database infrastructures.
Solid understanding of networking fundamentals related to database Oracle Real Application Clusters (RAC) management and security.
Advanced skills in SQL and PL/SQL for developing procedures, functions, triggers, views, and materialized views.
Strong bash and shell scripting abilities for automation and task management with in-depth knowledge of Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8 (RHEL8).
Prior experience working in an Agile environment with an understanding of Scrum and Kanban.
Prior experience with project management, documentation, and version control tools like Jira, Confluence, and/or ClearCase. - Prior exposure to/experience with USTRANSCOM IT systems.
Experience with Python, particularly for RDS and DynamoDB interactions. null
