This position is for our dynamic Fortune 500 partner in the Scranton area.Vacation and Benefits package available.This is a 2-3 year assignment with possibility of extension.NOTE Micro Solutions is unable to provide sponsorship or to meet other employer work visa requirements. All candidates must be willing to undergo a background screening.Needs an experienced Outside Plant (OSP) Construction Inspector to join our Project Services (PS) group. The successful candidate will be responsible for outside plant fiber optic projects for a major customer in Pennsylvania.This position will require a local presence that is no more than one and a half hours from the project site(s) assigned.MUST BE ABLE TO TRAVEL TO SCRANTON AND SURROUNDING AREA.Position may require planned overnight travel.The position primarily is responsible for coordinating and managing day to day vendor activities for Fiber-to-the Home (FTTH) projects including SFU (single family), MDU (multi-dwelling), and FTTB (business) projects from construction to test and turn-up. Ideal candidate must be able to work on a job site as needed.Education and Experience RequirementsApproximately 3 years of underground and aerialutilities knowledgeApproximately 3 years of Fiber and Outside Plant knowledgeValid US Driver's License, clean driving record. (Class A CDL is preferred)High School diploma or equivalent requiredRequired SkillsExtensive proven industry knowledge of aerial, buried and underground fiber optic installation methodologies.Read and understand FTTX (fiber to the home) CAD and IQGeo designsWorking understanding of fiber optic network architecturesExtensive knowledge with Microsoft Office products: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, OutlookOrganizational skills: ability to handle several projects concurrently, a high level of attention to detail is required.Ability to handle rapidly changing prioritiesStrong written and oral communication skillsWorking knowledge of fiber optic testing proceduresWillingness to work outside of normal scheduled business hours when necessary100% fluent in EnglishDesired SkillsKnowledge of utility construction and project planning proceduresFamiliarity with Sitetracker project management softwareUnderstanding of RUS (Rural Utility Service) CodesAbility to troubleshoot potential warranty issues using Company provided equipment such as Optical Time Domain Reflectometers (OTDR), Visual Fault Locators (VFL), and Optical Test Sets.Familiarization with Corning FlexNAP productsA high level of customer centricityAbility to read and understand maps, drawings, and diagrams for fiber construction.History of adhering to safety procedures and practices.TravelSome travel with overnight is expected (? 30%)Local travel within an hour and half of the project site (100%)Work Environment:Must be able to work in a variety of physical positions, including climbing, sitting, standing, walking, and drivingRegular exposure to all weather conditions, especially hot, humid and/or rainy spring, summer fall weather and cold snowy winter weather, combined with regular work time indoors in environmentally controlled conditionsMay be exposed to uncomfortable or distracting sounds or noise levels on sites of projects being managed or coordinated When working on site, will be required to wear common protective safety equipment, such as safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection, hard hat and safety vest.Other:Successful candidate shall be local to the Scranton, PA area.Candidate cannot be any more tha
