Zillow, Inc. is seeking a Principal Software Development Engineer for its Seattle, Washington office.
Job Duties: Responsible for supporting Search and Discover experience development teams and development teams delivering products and services for shoppers on mobile and web. Balance short-term and long-term technical solutions. Partner with design, product, and engineering teams across Core Search and AI to identify scalable and performant solutions and deliver comprehensive end-to-end solutions. Contribute to several software services critical to the business and transition to a strategic leadership role revising system architecture and design. Collaborate with other senior software engineers and surface innovative opportunities for the organization. Telecommuting is permitted.
Education Requirement: Master's degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
Experience Requirements: One (1) year of experience in each of the following:
- Working with APIs such as Rest or GRPC
- Working with stakeholders to convert product requirements into technical designs
- Defining overall strategy, planning projects, and breaking them down into deliverables
- Working with databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, or DynamoDB and identifying the right database solution depending on product requirements
Providing technical leadership for large and strategic high-impact software development projects
