ANCHOR QEA, LLC Senior Land Use Planner in Seattle, Washington

Senior Land Use Planner Location: Washington Job Type: Regular Full-Time What's the Opportunity? Anchor QEA is seeking a full-time Planner located in Washington State to help contribute to the management and development of long-range plans and planning documents. The ideal candidate would also be eager to expand this line of business within Anchor QEA. This includes demonstrated experience preparing or updating local policy documents, developing municipal code, and conducting long-range planning; in Washington State that may include Comprehensive Plans, Shoreline Master Program, climate adaptation strategies, or Critical Areas Ordinance documents. This may also include supporting public outreach and facilitation efforts to collect public feedback or present project information to public officials. The position may require some travel to participate in client meetings, public meetings, stakeholder work groups, or site visits. Responsibilities: The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree and 7+ years of experience in land use and long-range planning and will be responsible for: Developing goals and policies for local jurisdictions for planning purposes. Working with local government entities to carry out long-range planning comprehensive or periodic updates. Facilitating public meetings and workshops, developing and executing public participation plans, and presenting proposed plans and code to elected and appointed officials. Supporting development of documentation to comply with state and local land use regulations for permitting efforts (e.g., State Environmental Policy Act compliance). Managing tasks or projects, including overseeing small project or field teams, including developing and managing scopes, schedules, budgets and interfacing with clients, agencies, other consultants, and the public. What Are We Looking For? Ideal candidates will have the following: Bachelor's degree 7+ years experience with and use and long-range planning Experienced in completing environmental permit applications and supporting analyses Skilled facilitator and/or public outreach experience Excellent written and verbal communication Ability to work independently to manage teams and manage workload when needed What Can You Expect?
