About the IS Operational Experience (OXP) Portfolio
Our software business systems are built to provide efficiency and functionality to our branch offices and warehouses, allowing Expeditors to provide outstanding customer service and competitive rates. Our internal and external systems are an integrated suite of collaborative supply chain software applications that are designed to assist our operations teams and customers in managing international and domestic shipping challenges.
This position is for the leader of our Customs & Compliance development team. This team supports several customs and compliance applications by providing all aspects of development services, from new features and capabilities to ensuring they are performant and up to date. These applications are critical tools for our branch-based operators performing logistics services to our customers all over the world.

The Team Manager for the Customs & Compliance team is responsible for supporting an agile software development team by executing on all aspects of team leadership and management.
This role is responsible for coaching and mentoring team members, ensuring that they have the training and tools to do their jobs, and supporting their growth so that they and their teams are healthy and performing well. The Team Manager is responsible for ensuring that their teams understand expectations and how their work is tied to the goals of the department and Expeditors. Team Managers need to optimize their teams to achieve desired outcomes and be biased towards execution. The Team Manager understands logistics in general, their specific domain very well, how to foster DevSecOps, and how the Expeditors Technology and Process Architectures work to enable success.
The Team Manager is the primary "face" of the team to other teams at Expeditors,and is able to represent their work and capabilities at a high-level. This person will help manage and prioritize the team's work, and ensure it uses effective processes.
The Team Manager will report to the Senior Manager of the OXP Strategic Investments Group and work directly with Program leadership and Product Management, as well as stakeholders across the company.

Ensure the team's work is aligned with department and company objectives, and prioritized appropriately
Understand, support, and communicate the Global IS vision and strategy
Ensure the availability, security and performance of the team's applications
Deliver tangible business value through execution of initiatives, programs, and projects
Ensure your team understands how their work is tied to outcomes, and provide other forms of motivation tailored to the individuals on the team
Oversee enterprise risk management, provider relationships, and/or asset management as needed
Lead the hiring process for new team members, as needed
This position is on-site and will reside in the greater Seattle, WA. area at one of the following locations depending on availability. Candidates must be local or willing to relocate. Relocation assistance is not offered for this position.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Strong leadership, management, communication, and execution capabilities
Experienced problem solver, strong collaborator, and able to provide clarity around complex topics
Exceptional customer service skills
Excellent organization and interpersonal skills
Ability to prioritize while maintaining deadline constraints
Solid understanding of basic business and financial concepts
Ability to actively inspire, coach, mentor, and motivate
Strong alignment with Expeditors culture
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Proven effective leadership experience with an agile software development team
Knowledge of agile and SAFe software development methodologies
Knowledge of DevSecOps concepts
Experience with a logistics company or role

Expected base salary: $95,000 to $180,000
