Quest Diagnostics Inc Sr. Manager, Finance - Hospital Systems Optimization in Secaucus, New Jersey

The Senior Finance Manager for Health Systems Operational Excellence is the business partner to the Executive Director, Operations - Health Systems, Director - PLS Optimization, and the PLS Optimization team ("Optimization Team") who are responsible for driving the strategic direction of the optimization and Invigorate effort for the PLS business and ensuring effective implementation of enterprise-wide PLS initiatives. This individual will assist the Optimization Team in developing strategy, initiatives, insights, analytical tools, and execution plans to significantly improve processes, quality, and cost effectiveness throughout our PLS business. Additionally, this individual will have a leadership responsibility and play an integral role in the accuracy and integrity associated with the analysis, forecasting, and budgeting of operating costs and related savings opportunities for the Company's PLS business. They will serve as an effective business partner to PLS business and Regional leadership, by providing historical analysis and insights to drive business performance and cost savings.

This professional can work in a hybrid capacity, with a mostly remote schedule.


  • Serves as business partner to the Optimization Team.
  • Assist the Optimization Team in developing strategy, initiatives, insights, analytical tools, and execution plans to significantly improve processes, quality, and cost effectiveness throughout our PLS business.
  • The Finance Manager will partner closely with the Optimization Team, Regional leadership, and functional experts in developing and implementing:
    • Optimization and Invigorate OM improvement strategies related to network and process optimization, people management, supply optimization, asset management, and revenue
    • Processes and analytical tools to driveopportunities
    • Enhanced investment and savings forecasting tools
  • Develop business cases for significant investments, as necessary, such as:
    • Technology modernization
    • System and process standardization
  • Provide progress updates, multi-year projections and external reporting guidance to Health Systems/PLS management, Regional leadership, and the Optimization Team.
  • Create and roll-out processes to measure and report out OM improvements for optimization initiatives across the entire PLS business.
  • Take leadership role in driving the creation and roll-out of annual optimization and Invigorate OM improvement targets
  • Mentor and provide financial guidance to the Optimization Team as they work to identify, prioritize, and sequence their portfolio of optimization and Invigorate initiatives.
  • Work with the Optimization Team on developing effective project management tools and processes, impactful communications, and brainstorming workshops.
  • Integral member of the Company's Health Systems/PLS Finance function with direct ownership and accountability for the accuracy and integrity associated with the analysis, forecasting and budgeting of optimization and cost savings opportunities.Ensure no "surprises".

QUALIFICATIONS

Required WorkExperience:

  • Approximately 8+ years of professional accounting / finance or engineering experience.

  • Demonstrates a strong knowledge of operational and financial processes and practical application of financial and strategic analysis

Skills:

  • Demonstrates skill in working with senior management and functional subject matter experts
  • Strong MS Excel, database and Essbase
  • Development of analytics tools to identifyoptimization and savings opportunities (FTEs, supplies, asset management, revenue, etc.)
