Boehringer Ingelheim Head of Corporate Affairs in Seoul, South Korea

The Position

  • Experienced Public & Government Affairs professional who is able to provide senior counsel and guidance to the leadership team in Korea - to drive BI's corporate reputation through strategic relationship management with key stakeholders in government, regulators and trade.

  • Display strong leadership skills and able to lead on developing and executing high impact policy positions and Government Affairs programmes, aimed at ensuring a favorable business environment for BI’s Business in the OPU.

  • Understands the external political environment and potential governmental developments.

  • Supports the business in developing a strong corporate affairs presence and strategy to help ensure an environment where patients have access to BI’s medicines, now and in the future.

Tasks & Responsibilities

  • Monitor and analyze political and legislative developments, and assess the possible impact on BI’s business and reputation.

  • Direct, devise and execute strategic & tactical plans to leverage or mitigate upcoming changes and trends - created growth opportunities for the organization.

  • Enhance visibility and give BI a prominent voice with policy makers.

  • Lead advocacy outreach to relevant politicians and parliamentary groups, being the initial face of the organisation with these individuals.

  • Instigate, develop, and drive approval of all relevant public / government affairs content, letters, documents, positioning papers, slides etc (approval process) (with agency support where appropriate).

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in related field

  • At least 7 years of relevant experience who has extensive experience of working in politics/Government Relations at national level

  • Display strong leadership skills to lead teams and people

  • Confident public speaker able to engage a room of individuals with different perspectives and position a potentially controversial argument

  • Excellent writing skills, with the ability to articulate messages clearly and concisely in an engaging style perspective.

  • Ability to prioritize work under pressure and deliver to agreed deadlines.

  • Thoroughness, accuracy and attention to detail in all aspects of work

  • Highly motivated, able to work independently and in a team
