Victory House Substance Use Disorder Counselor in Shamokin, Pennsylvania

Victory Treatment Group is a 30-bed inpatient halfway house for adult men who suffer from substance abuse disorder. Victory Treatment Group's goal is to provide care to clients that is individualized to their specific needs. As a primary counselor, you will be a support for individuals who are on their way through early recovery. Our team's goal is to provide each client with the tools necessary to leave our center and have the best path possible through their sobriety as they fully enter back into the community.

Job Duties

  • Lead group and/or family sessions, as scheduled and document as required.
  • Maintain client caseload (including all case management and utilization review updates).Treatment planning duties and clinical charting as required.
  • Conduct educational lectures.
  • May be responsible for initial assessments, as well as follow up assessments for patients.
  • Complete Biopsychosocial with assigned client(s)
  • Ensure all documentation regarding patient care, treatment and incidents is completed in a timely, clear, concise manner.
  • Offer crisis intervention to patients, as needed.
  • Schedule for aftercare for assigned patients.
  • Act as a liaison with insurance carriers, as requested, complete continued stay reviews following ASAM criteria.
  • Provide case management duties for patients, ensuring individualized quality care.
  • Assess the need of the patient and determine if referrals to other programs or facilities are needed.
  • Ensure that notes are up to date and accurate.
  • Demonstrate a positive, empathetic, and professional attitude towards clients at all times. When patient needs are not met, acknowledge and work to resolve complaints. Recognize that patient safety is a top priority.
  • Assist with removing all barriers to recovery and transforming individual, families, and communities with treatment that works.
  • Promoting an environment of long-term recovery.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Minimum of a Bachelor degree from an accredited college with a major in chemical dependency, psychology, social work, counseling, nursing, or another related field.
  • Counseling experience a plus
