Job Description
We are seeking a skilled chemist to perform routine analysis of finished pharmaceutical dosages and/or raw materials following approved analytical methodology and specifications. The ideal candidate will design and execute method transfer protocols, method validations, and write corresponding reports. Additionally, the chemist will lead the development of analytical methods to assess the purity, potency, and stability of drug substances and finished products.
Responsibilities
Perform routine analysis of finished pharmaceutical dosages and/or raw materials.
Design and execute method transfer protocols and method validations.
Write method transfer and validation reports.
Design and execute cleaning validation protocols and write final reports.
Support the development of analytical methods for assessing purity, potency, and stability.
Proficiently conduct HPLC/GC analysis and prepare reagents and sample solutions for testing.
Operate laboratory analytical instrumentation and assist in troubleshooting laboratory equipment.
Maintain accurate, detailed records of work performed.
Ensure adherence to testing schedules through a team-oriented process.
Read and interpret USP, EP, and JP compendial monographs and analytical methodologies.
Write SOPs, laboratory protocols, reports, memos, and other interdepartmental correspondence.
Train and provide guidance to other personnel, becoming a subject matter expert in laboratory practices.
Utilize root cause analysis tools and technical writing for laboratory investigations.
Independently conduct and document laboratory investigations and act as a backup for the laboratory supervisor.
Essential Skills
6-10 years of industry experience as a pharmaceutical chemist.
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemistry.
Proficiency with HPLC, including method development and validation.
Proficiency in laboratory practices and equipment operation.
Skills & Qualifications
Proficiency with Empower software is a plus.
Experience in data review.
Protocol authoring.
Work Environment
You will work in a collaborative environment with 6-8 other chemists. The work schedule is Monday to Friday, from 8 am to 5 pm.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $53.00/hr.
