City of Sidney Human Resources Coordinator in Sidney, Ohio
Create internal and external advertisements for open positions in the City and place advertisements with newspapers, government agencies, colleges and career specific websites; attend college job fairs, high school career days. Assist department heads in reviewing and screening applicants for employment on the basis of experience and training; interview candidates and assist departments in the interview and selection process, and schedule pre-employment testing; conduct new hire orientations and process paperwork, and report new hires to state, payroll, vendors and send out new hire notices internally. Assist with planning and coordinating Employee Events. Assist with creating Personnel Action Report (PAR) changes for pay, department, positions, and bonuses; assist employees with changes to deductions and enter into Munis; reconcile leave requests and timesheets (work with departments and employees for missing information and needed corrections; enter transfers for employees within their department and positions; assist employees with changes to address, benefits, personal status and enter into Munis; enter new hires and termination into Munis. Assist with Coordinating Workers' Compensation program with Comp Management; recommend to Human Resource Director the approval/denial of workers' compensation claims; research claims and file all necessary paperwork for WC Claims; track all reportable injuries and illnesses as legally required; maintain PERRP forms for entire city. Process benefit enrollment and change information to Payroll and vendors; assist with annual open enrollment meetings for all benefits; create annual spreadsheets to notify Payroll of changes to benefits and deductions; perform research on various personnel topics and provide written reports on findings. Enter leave requests into the Leave Database and approve them in compliance with personnel policies and procedures; notify Supervisors, Managers and Senior Directors of missing Leave Requests. Assist with attending Executive Safety Committee meetings and assist with City-wide training needs and goals; coordinate training for department heads on personnel issues; demonstrate continuous effort to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, streamline work processes, and work cooperatively; operate personal computer to enter and access data and generate documents; work with department heads to review and keep current all position descriptions. Assists with public records requests and employment verifications. Meets all job-safety requirements and all applicable OSHA safety standards that pertain to essential functions; maintain professional qualifications through continuing education. This position requires general knowledge of office equipment, including copier, fax, computer and computer system(s), Microsoft Office (word, excel, outlook, access, Powerpoint, and other software applications; Adobe, Munis, etc). LICENSURE OR CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: Must possess and maintain a valid State of Ohio driver's license and must remain insurable under the City's vehicle insurance policy.
