JOB DESIGNATION

The purpose of this position is to effectively manage large, complex supplier procurement activities and cross-functional relationships ensuring best practice purchasing techniques are applied at all times. In addition, this role will be responsible to develop, implement, and manage strategic sourcing activities and commodity strategies, support new product introduction activities, and support integrated product teams, aligned with Meggitt policies, processes and direction.

JOB CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage large, complex supplier relationships to ensure quality, cost, delivery, and responsiveness targets are achieved eradicating and/or escalating problems efficiently both internally and externally to minimize impact on our business. Develop and agree contracts as required and manage and enforce complex contractual obligations. Drive annual cost down and minimize supplier cost increases. Accountable for commodity Purchase Cost Variance (PCV) performance for designated commodities.

  • Ensure smooth transition from new product introduction to serial production by working effectively with other procurement team members and functions. Represent procurement on assigned New Product Introduction and Integrated Product Teams acting a liaison between these teams and the procurement team. Coordinate required procurement input and issue resolution in support of team goals

  • Manage new product introduction activities for procurement as assigned taking responsibility for customer requirement flow down, quotation, in-depth quote evaluation, cross-functional sourcing, risk evaluation, negotiating, contracting, working capital/inventory program flow down, ordering, supplier schedule maintenance/adherence, rate readiness, and other complex supplier launch activities including customer support/interaction in accordance with policies, procedures, and company objectives.

  • Support strategic make versus buy activities and cross-functional manufacturing strategy development.

  • Conduct large spend category requests for quotation, evaluation, negotiations, and sourcing activities as directed in order to obtain a full range of products and services from suppliers that meet planned performance targets and Meggitt guidelines. Raise orders and/or other demand signals accurately and on time to ensure all goods and services are supplied in accordance with customer and company requirements whilst at the same time optimizing levels of inventory.

  • Manage day to day activities in support of the procurement of materials and services including obsolesce, engineering changes, part revisions, invoice issues, pricing discrepancies, expediting/de-expediting, cancellations, and the management of defective materials. Ensure compliance with government laws and regulations and company policies and processes. Lead cross-function and senior level meetings internally and externally as required to ensure successful resolution of issues.

  • Manage system and supply chain performance parameters such as supplier contact information, lead times, minimum order quantities, delivery frequency, and schedules. Review performance data related to purchasing effectiveness and efficiency and take a leadership role in driving corrective actions where necessary. Proactively work with major suppliers and commodities to discover and exploit opportunities for continuous improvement, performance improvement, savings, and other efficiencies by working across supplier and internal organizations.

  • Lead product development, VA/VE, supplier capacity analysis and other supplier engagement processes in support of departmental goals including supplier account reviews and appropriate account review action management.

  • Carry out other duties as may be required within the job holder’s capability consistent with the terms and conditions of employment.

    Education: A bachelor’s degree is required with relevant experience that will allow successful performance of job expectations.

    Please note that the salary range information is only applicable for California. Compensation is based on a variety of factors, candidate experience, qualifications, location as well as market and business considerations. Pay Range: $78,000 to $126,000
