Purpose of Role

The Accountant role offer candidates real life experience on how MNC operates. The candidate is responsible in managing the accounts payable & GL. This role will be responsible for processing, verifying and recording trade payments in an accurate, efficient and timely manner. The duties include, but not limited to, reconciling inventories on a monthly basis, assisting in physical inventory count process and reconciling the annual physical inventories, generating and reviewing obsolete/slow moving inventory schedules, and maintaining of leases schedules. Occasionally will also need to support payable teammates across SEA.

This role will also ensure transparency and efficiency in all transactions.

Qualifications

Accounting & Finance

  • Processing, reviewing and verifying all purchase orders and invoices, as well as reconciliation of variances on inventory reports.

  • Oversee all incoming trade purchases in terms of cost & quantity

  • Review trade purchases and goods in transit in a timely manner

  • Monitor quarterly freight accrual and reversal against actual shipment.

  • Maintain of leases schedules for SEA countries (proficient in CoStar software will be an additional advantage)

  • Preparation of quarterly GST reconciliation

  • Attending physical inventory count process

  • Support payables teams across SEA when required and track respective department accruals.

Closing Activities

  • Participate in monthly, quarterly and year end closing activities.

  • Ensure that all GL figures are tied for all reports.

  • Preparation of ledger entries and bookkeeping for closing activities

  • Preparation of quarterly provision of inventory obsolescence

Others

  • Liaise with auditors and preparation of audit schedules

  • Maintain proper documentation of all company expenditures and corporate records for auditing purposes

  • Adhere to policies and procedures for proper internal control

  • Ensure that processing and execution of all payments and transactions are in line with the company's policies

  • Performs other duties as required to support Accounting Department.

Your Impact

  • Bachelor’s degree in accountancy/finance or professional accountancy qualification and/or equivalent education

  • Minimum of 3 years of accounting and finance and/or related experience

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and ERP solutions with aptitude to learn new systems.

  • Meticulous, analytically independent with strong problem-solving skills

  • A good team player with excellent interpersonal skills

  • Possesses a sense of urgency with strong follow-up skills and the ability to work with tight deadlines.

Workplace Location

  • Location: This individual must reside within commuting distance from our Singapore office.

  • Return to Work Designation: 3 days week in-office, the remainder of work week remote.
