We’re currently looking for a high caliber professional to join our team as Officer, Business Risk and Control Intmd Analyst based in Singapore. The Business Risk and Controls Intermediate Analyst is a developing professional role. Deals with most problems independently and has some latitude to solve complex problems. Integrates in-depth specialty area knowledge with a solid understanding of industry standards and practices. Good understanding of how the team and area integrate with others in accomplishing the objectives of the subfunction/ job family. Applies analytical thinking and knowledge of data analysis tools and methodologies. Requires attention to detail when making judgments and recommendations based on the analysis of factual information. Typically deals with variable issues with potentially broader business impact. Applies professional judgment when interpreting data and results. Breaks down information in a systematic and communicable manner. Developed communication and diplomacy skills are required in order to exchange potentially complex/sensitive information. Moderate but direct impact through close contact with the businesses' core activities. Quality and timeliness of service provided will affect the effectiveness of own team and other closely related teams

Responsibilities:

  • Support Wealth Asia Business Control Lead in a range of risk and control governance and oversight activities including but not limited to Personal Trading and Investment policy, Continuity of Business, Entitlement reviews, Records Management, Mandatory Absence, Mandatory Training, Policies/Standard/Procedure management.

  • Provide support on governance, oversight processes for the Escalation Program.

  • Provide support in the analysis to identify, assess, record and response to Operational, Compliance and Reputational Risk events, ensuring these are captured accurately, timely and in accordance with requirements.

  • Provide check and challenge to ensure events, incidents, issues follow the appropriate escalation path, in according with Escalation Policy, Issue Management Policy and the Reputational Risk Standards.

  • Coordinate and support the reporting and preparation of key governance meeting materials including the Risk & Control meetings, Business Risk Control Committees at business and global level and the weekly Risk & Control reporting to Wealth Leadership team.

  • Provide support in assessing the quality, completeness, and accuracy of the implementation of the Control Framework, including Issue Management, Lesson Learned and Operational Loss Capture.

  • Issue Management : Perform analysis to support with the identification of issue root cause, partnering with control and process owners to recommendations holistic corrective actions and improvements, perform data quality reviews of issues and support issue validation at the end of the remediation process.

  • Lessons Learned : Provide support in the implementation of the policy, including monitoring of control breaches and dissemination and learnings across other business units for process improvement to limit the occurrence of similar future events and where similar risk exposure might exist.

  • Operational Loss Capture : Provide analysis and support to the operational loss reporting and oversight process

  • Support in the execution of the Manager Control Assessment (MCA, i.e., Risk & Control Self-Assessment) as required by the MCA Standard including the assessment and appropriate approval of risk associated with business changes.

  • Apply knowledge of the business, products, or services to identify and implement control points and processes throughout the business.

  • Provide support to administrative and ad-hoc activities as assigned by the Wealth Asia Business Control Lead.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years or more of relevant experience

  • Good understanding of internal controls, coupled with working experience in audit, risk and control, governance or compliance roles.

  • Experience in working in Governance and Risk & Control preferred

  • Excellent Project management and organizational skills, ability to multitask and adapt to change.

  • Strong command of spoken and written English, consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication skills

  • Strong working knowledge in Microsoft Office with an emphasis on MS Excel and MS Powerpoint, creating and managing MS Sharepoint

  • Self-motivated, resourceful and able to work independently with minimal supervision

  • Problem solver with the ability to translate plans in actions

  • Detail oriented and attention to quality of deliverables

  • Effective team player and stakeholder management skills

  • Bachelor’s/University degree holder in accounting, finance or equivalent (CPA/CIA preferred)

  • 'A' level or Polytechnic Diploma with at least 10 years of experience in the banking industry with equivalent experience
