You will:
Set the overall direction of how we should utilize ocean carrier allocation across our customers’ shipments
Regularly monitor plan adherence, identify needed adjustments, and communicate changes across stakeholders in the Ocean team
Optimize across freight across, on-time performance, carrier strategy, and process efficiencies
Identify and drive process improvements to decrease cost to serve and increase effectivity
Develop operational and financial metrics to track performance against freight costs, allocation utilization, and on-time performance
Partner with Technology teams to develop next generation freight management systems
Monitor and report on freight cost optimization to ocean leadership
Work closely with any overseas counterparts
Develop your team to create the future of Flexport allocation management
Work across Procurement, Pricing, Planning, and District Management teams to deliver globally optimized results to the Ocean P&L
You should have:
6+ years of prior experience at a top freight forwarder or carrier and a BA/BS Degree
Solid industry knowledge with an in-depth understanding of ocean freight, ocean freight product and carrier management, hand on experience of allocation planning or yield management is a plus
Strong analytical skills and ability to structure, interpret and action data
High attention to detail and agility in a fast-paced environment
Strategic vision and ground floor execution;
Bias to Action, Process, Structure and Data;
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills;
An obsession with client happiness. You succeed when they succeed;
